But upto now, i've not knocked him because he's a new manager with a new team, and he needs time to settle the team. However His latest interview on radio Sheffield tonight really annoyed me. He seemed to keep having a swipe at "People". Aparently we're taking too much notice of last season, despite bringing up the comparison of results himself, (He said we lost 3-0 at Millwall last year so we've improved[it was actually 2-0 btw]). Then he took a swipe at the clubs history, now that really got to me; he said he wishes people would stop going on about 1997; personally, I don't think we use 1997 as a ard stick in any way, to base our current performances on, I think as under dogs, we constantly refer to 97, as a target as to what we can achieve. He thinks we're setting our aims too high, and we all think the club has more money than it has, nothing like trying to get the fans on board Keith. As I say, i've not criticised Hill before today, but he seems to be blaming all of us, because a small minority booed the team in our first 3 home games.
I think perhaps thats how he motivates himself and the players.............."its us against the world, lets prove 'em all wrong" kind of attitude. If he feels the need to feel persecuted in order to get results then so be it, whatever works for him.
Im starting to get the impression he wants to be forced out of the job. I can honestly say if we judged a manager by the 1997 squad he would be out of a job by now. Im starting to really dislike Keith Hill.
Archey you have just joined the ranks of the moaners, welcome in lad. It is not acceptable to say anything against Hill, no matter how much he has a bash at the fans, we have to accept it and be pleased that he came here to a place that is clearly below him, with fans that dare to have an opinion. I hope that when the time comes for him to move on, Bolton are ready to accept the Messiah.
You say BECAUSE A SMALL MINORITY, i say a large % of people. Yes people do say well we beat them last season like it's that easy.
You are wrong though mate, it is a VERY SMALL minority of fans that booed DURING the matches, a majority booed AFTER the match and at halftime, which surely is acceptable to a professional sports manager, he should be ready to take on board how the fans feel, not have a pop at them.
DURING the game? Are you sure about that? You don't mean at half time and at full time? You honestly believe that over 5,000 people were booing DURING the game?
To be fair, in some respects he has a point about our fans. Today I went to the toilet after the end of the game to hear someone say "good result last week and today, but we'll be **** against leicester". What does it take for us to look forward to a game?
Mate when they boo it sounds loud because there is no other noise, if the team were doing their stuff on the pitch there would not be ANY boos at all, but I dont think it is undeserved after the garbage we had to endure during those matches, hopeful;ly that will have changed for the next match, but Hill has a go at the fans all the time, totally unwarranted most of the time and today he is talking out of his a*se!!
KH is RIGHT!! most on here still think its 97 and the fact of the matter is.....this season is now and its KH team and for me were going in the right direction. Last season has passed, Robins spat his dummy out and we have to keep going forward and I for 1 truely believe we have the RIGHT man in the job
Thanks for the heads up on the interview, I won't listen to it but congratulate the away fans again for their performance and securing a decent point for us
I thought he was a bit less confrontational this week I'm sure I heard him say the fans were fantastic. I know people don't go to away games just to get a word of praise from the manager, but when you've travelled all that way to give your support it's nice to know that support is appreciated.
Keith Hill has taken the booing far too personal and keeps re-iterating the actions of a minority at Oakwell in most of the interviews that he conducts. Its time we all started to pull together and support him in the next home game and hopefully Keith's 'them and us' attitude will subside.
Strange thing that, I don`t know ANYONE that thinks that way, certainly no-one on here does and the fact of the matter is , Keith Hill is wrong. Yes it is a different season and things are different now, but I am sure it was Hill himself that stated he wanted a couple of new players in, yet today he says we cant afford anyone new and its time WE THE FANS accepted it. Well Mr Hill, stop saying you want them if we cant afford them. We all know that the club has no money, but it seem to me that Hill thought the club were lieing when they told HIM that and it is he that thought different not the fans.
My uncle Keegan says he thinks that we should get promoted every season and boos keith hill unless we win at least 2 nil every week. But he did the same when Marvin Robins was in charge. Ads.
