Shipperley andDyer instead of Odejayi and Mossto.

Hignett over Howard , and maybe Souza although playing with Chettle is probably akin to playing with Reid alongside,

I'd have to go with 'then' really. Souza would have been a good fit alongside Morgan but not with Chettle. Still would if the Blunts dont want him. Difficult to choose between Higgy or Howie? I'd have to go with Hignett I think? Though call though.
Shipps and Broooce up front for me too. As a strike partnership they were very good (when Dyer wasnt tiring out the linesman's arm!)
Barnard was a proven performer even at Premier level so he'd be my choice over McCann.

    Agreed mostly

    Souza better than Morgan
Hignett, although Howard is a hell of a player
    Hristo deffo better than Mostto
Barnard was quality, McCann is decent

what about 1996 - 97 now or then?

    5-3-2 versus 4-4-2

    Watson - muller

    eaden - foster

    de zueww - souza

    moses - nyatanga

    thompson - werling

appleby - mccann (not quite a fair comparison seeing as mccanns left midfield and appleby was a sweeper but its the nearest i could get)

    marcelle - JCR

    Redders - howard

    stumpy - anderson de silva

    wilko - Ferenczi

    hendrie - odejaye

It would be difficult to pick against...

...the promotion side wouldn't it as they were almost unbeatable. Or has the quality improved so much in the last ten years?

Stumpy v De Silva... now that's a funny comparison.

RE: what about 1996 - 97 now or then?

It's unfair to compare the two sides yet.

One had a full season and promotion and one has had 8 games.

But on the limited games I've seen so far Souza, Muller and Da Silva would walk into that promotion side.

Shez did play a lot at leftback

when Thommo was injured, he did a good job of it too.
I think Liddell and Marcelle traded places most of the season, but my memory is playing up tonight

    nope

liddle played up front until super john came along

shez played mainly in midfield but stood in at left back when thommo was injured and jovo then came in midfield

marcelle was in competition with bullock for the spot behind the front two

    Silly question

We are here now, what happened in the past is not relevant.

looking at the book I think we played 5 - 3 -2 the majority of the seson

he played the first9 gamesup front alongside wilko

he then played the next 9 games behind the front two instead of marcelle

he then missed the next 8 games (coming on as sub in 2 or 3)

he then played another 5 on the trot instead of marcelle again

then only made 2 morefull appearances before the end of the season(1 instead of wilko and 1against bradford)
