....I'm hoping for a draw in the Utd/Chelsea game Thought we worked our socks off yesterday all over the pitch, exactly the same ethos Malky had instilled into us last year. Didn't let Man City settle at all and the crowd were certainly up for it. Favourite chant of the day had to be at Joe Hart - "where's your dandruff gone...". Mate of mine was in St Ives on holiday and had to watch it in a pub full of Citeh. He was the only Cardiff fan in there - and celebrated every goal in his City shirt to much abuse. As he was leaving he shook the hands of those close to the exit and said "cheers lads, great game - hope you stay up"
Bluebird (Redbird?) Congratulations on an awesome result. Your lads worked their socks off and were worthy victors. This sort of result breathes new life into the Prem, so let's hope there's more to come! Good Luck for the rest of the season, and in MM, you have a very shrewd young manager.
Congrats Bluebird on a great result, really pleased (only 'cos I hate Citeh), As for title contenders........ nah!
Promotion and one Premiership win and your history/heritage is forgotten just like that, eh? I hope you enjoy it, I'm just glad it's not Barnsley Football Club.
MM is the best signing we've made without doubt. He's reorganised the whole structure of the club from the academy to backroom staff - and has a billionaire prepared to back him.
Eh? You do know it was tongue in cheek? How can you erase heritage & history btw? When Vincent Tan made the decision to chamge our shirt colour from blue to red we were £60m+ in debt & he was going to walk away - and we'd have been liquidated. There was no-one waiting in the background and that would have been it. If it came to the crunch, the vast majority of fans of any club would choose to change colours rather than no longer exist.
No arguement, that's what you get when you have a succession of crooked owners/chairmen. VT is going to convert this debt into equity btw as part of the rebrand. Personally, I still believe we'll return to blue.
Makes you wonder what could have happened if Flitcroft had set our side up to go at them last season instead of setting us up for a loss.
Not that we're experts at the Premiership or owt, we only had one season there after all, but if I can offer any advice at all it's that you shouldn't get down hearted when you get stuffed. You will get stuffed, several times, everybody does, but more often than not we'd get completely tonked one week then get a good result the next. Just about every team in the Premier league is capable of handing out a right hiding when they click, you've just got to get used to it and look forward to the next game. Losing 5,6 and even 7 nowt doesn't mean you're ****. We lost 6-0 to Chelsea on the Saturday, but beat Bolton on the Wednesday. Lost 7-0 at Man Utd and 4-1 at Southampton then beat Liverpool at Anfield. A 6-0 reverse at West Ham was followed by a victory over Palace and a draw at Tottenham. Forget the lows and enjoy the highs. Enjoy the ride mate.
Oh, forgot to say, an estimated 1000 fans marched from the City centre in support of our history/heritage http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BIzAE-diZkM
I'm expecting to lose most weeks - with some right beatings along the way As long as we maintain the team spirit & commitment that we've had since MM took over I'll be happy. Then, if we're not good enough at the end of the season, so be it - but at least we'll have given it a go. A ridiculous side effect of this is that I've actually started to watch premiership games on telly - think I'm turning into a plastic lol
The level of debt is shocking. As a company director, I've no idea how football clubs are allowed to trade - it's ridiculous. I'm a shareholder at CCFC and when Sam Hammam was at the helm, he didn't produce accounts for three years on the trot - and happily took the HMRC fines btw. Oh & thanks - we'll need the luck
Ta very much. I'm hoping we'll be OK but still need strengthening in a couple of positions. We're in talks with a new striker at the moment apparently & that'll help. Trouble is, it's a small pool & everyone's aftre them. Well happy with our signings to date though. I tried my very best to enjoy it yesterday, trust me
I did partake in the odd cheeky lemonade mate We had our usual fancy dress 6 a-side cricket tournament at my local rugby club yesterday as well - in memory of a mate no longer with us, bus picked us up & returned there. Happy days. It's always a fantastic day/night and was no exception yesterday. But when you start at 10am, you know it's going to be a long day lol. Must remember that karaoke is not my strongest point as well.
