Chance Of It Happening........ http://www.barnsleyfc.org.uk/bbs/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=72134&mid=452363#M452363 Basically it is like the Oldham situation. Ronnie Moore did a great job there of turning them from relegation contenders to playoff contenders in his first season with them. But the fans never took to him and season ticket sales for this season were down by two thirds so he got sacked for Sheridan. Season ticket sales with us will also be down next season as fans don't have faith in Davey no matter how much he's appreciated for keeping us up. Wilson's contract mentions a getout clause if an higher league team come in for him (like we are), Redders wanting to come is a given and paying off Davey is luckily cheap (board learning from past mistakes paying off managers).
RE: Chance Of It Happening........ would like it to happen but cant see it,wilson would want money to strenthen bfc aint got any, will be another season of cheap options, that means sticking with davey
don't be so sure its a serious roumour Could happen. listening to Gord on radio deeh dah today he was coming up with the same patter we heard before 'we dont have to extend Simons Contract one year is enough for the time being' anybody else heard this before ????
No they wouldn't.. Wilson - Managing a promoted team on the up - why would he? Redders - failed with Scarboro - why would we? BFC fans - potential for about 500 extra people who'd turn up from loyalty to both of the above - couple of grand a week extra - should pay for the player's drinks bill
RE: No they wouldn't.. He never wanted much money in the past, so I don't see that being a sticking point. Wilson: We are a bigger club, we have the better ground, we have more fans, we have more local matches, we are in a higher league, he's an happy history with us etc. Redders: Legend with us, passionate about us, would put bums on seats, would install a mentality to play football the right way etc. Don't judge him on what he did with one club. Most people have a black spot on there CV.
always pisses me off this contract malarky the club should not be pressured into giving contracts to managers etc by the fans... they just panic. If a manager is worth his salt and wants to stay he will. If they want to go let em... id rather have someone committed to the job.
and he has had 1 good season in the last 10 why oh why do the kids on this board spout on about a wilson/Redders dream team, probably turn out to be a wet dream team
RE: and he has had 1 good season in the last 10 I think it would be a good combination, just don't think it would happen...mind you you're considerably older than me.... oh happy birthday (is it today?)
RE: 48 yesterday bugger me I'm 48 as well which makes me a couple of months older than you (don't look it though !!!)
