Best player at the club and needs a team building around him. Absolutely oozes class.

Great game, hope no clubs watching him with a view to signing him, too classy for League 1, so hope he takes us to championship

100%……..the whole team moves forward when he has it…… a great find.

He could be the difference in this team getting top 6+ IMO….

Easily the best player on the ball at the club.Rarely wastes a pass and often tries passes others can’t even see. Looking forward to seeing the pass again for the first goal.

I do worry that a midfield without Connell would get cut through far too easily though. I’ll let Clarke have that headache. He’s doing well with his selections recently.

Love how he's always looking to pass it forwards sounds simple but it isn't.

He's a fantastic player that will only get better as he settles and gets more match sharpness.

Everything about him is class. His positional awareness, his calm on the ball, his short passing, his long passing. His vision on the ball is on a different level to anyone else in the squad. In the most congested part of the pitch, he just makes it all look so easy.

There were a lot of changes second half but is it a stretch to say that we lost control of midfield when Connell came on for Russell?

I would say the amount of changes probably didn’t help and also that they kind of “went for it” a bit more given they were 3-0 down by then. They suddenly seemed to want to play in our defensive third rather than their own.

Nwakali and Jon Russell ran the game today.

Connell should drop for him going forward.

I dont think so. I think it was more a case of disrupted defence and Connell and Nwakali both wanting similar spaces, first thing that happened when Connell came on was both of them getting in each others way for same ball, literally the first thing.

I love Nwakali. Class act, so smooth and composed. Unreal passer. Gets beaten too easily though and can kinda glide past him, so if possible would love to see both Connell and Nwakali play together more and maybe get that chemistry and cohesion together because if Nwakali doesn't need to worry about anything like that, he'd be even more dangerous for us.

A great headache to have though

Unless either get injured or there form drops then Connell starts on the bench for the time being

Can we find a striker that can hit 10 to 15 goals to the end of the season could be the difference.

I really enjoy watching him play. At this moment in time, it's my opinion we have four quality midfield players at our disposal in Nwakali, Connell, Phillips and Russell.

Very good performance today, John Russell was also outstanding, his close control for a tall man is exceptional, with Adam Phillips back on form the manager has some decisions to make

He makes the game look so easy, and is very composed and calm on the ball.

I've just seen it and it's a sublime ball (reaction from the crowd said it all) You can't coach passing ability like that, you either 'see it' or you don't.

It is such a weapon too because team mates can make runs knowing the pass will be on the button and it keeps defenders looking over their shoulders.

We've not had that kind of option for a long time as far as I can remember. Hignett? Sheridan spring to mind. Probably a few I'm missing out on.
