Giles Barnes is a surprise inclusion on the Derby County substitutes bench for the second leg of the Coca-Cola Championship play-off semi-final.

The 18-year-old has made a quicker than expected recovery from a knee injury collected and takes his place among the replacements at Pride Park.

Derby's starting line-up is unchanged from the one that took the field in Saturday's first leg at the St Mary's Stadium, won 2-1 thanks to two Steve Howard goals.

Darren Currie is also on the bench, with Lewin Nyatanga and Gary Teale the two players to miss out.

The visitors make a change in goal with the experienced Kelvin Davies preferred to teenage Pole Bartosz Bialkowski.

Leon Best joins Marek Saganowski in attack, replacing the injured Kenwyne Jones, while injuries also deprive Southampton of full-backs Alex Ostlund and Gareth Bale.

In come Martin Cranie - for his first start of the season - and ex-Ram Chris Makin.

There's also a change in midfield with Rudi Skacel taking overfrom Djamel Belmadi.

Belmadi is on the bench alongside two former Derby favourites, midfielder Inigo Idiakez and striker Grzegorz Rasiak.

Tonight's game will go to extra-time and penalties if required, with away goals not counting double in the event of a draw.

RAMS: Bywater, Mears, Moore, Leacock, McEveley, Fagan, Oakley (C), S Johnson, Pearson, Macken, Howard.

SUBS: Camp (GK), Edworthy, Jones, Currie, Barnes.

SOUTHAMPTON: Davis, Pele, Saganowski, Skacel, Cranie, Makin, Baird (C), Viafara, Guthrie, Best, Surman.

SUBS: Bialkowski (GK), Wright-Phillips, Rasiak, Idiakez, Belmadi.

    Sign Him Up........

and give him a three year contract. Obviously not wanted where he is, so he might as well go where he is wanted.
