I know a fee is agreed, but that doesn't necessarily mean that he HAS to agree terms, does it? Just unsure on the situation with him if they decide to talk him into staying.
The agreement between Barnsley and Derby is done. Just needs an agreement with Nyatanga and the club now. Not sure if Derby would be allowed to pull out of the deal if Nyatanga agreed terms. Who knows..
Isn't he under contract with them until the end of June? I'm sure someone said he'd gone to Spain with the rest of our squad though!
The way I understand it is that we have agreed a price with Derby. But have not yet agreed terms with the player, think I read we have made an offer, but If he wants to sign for us then negotiations are due. But if we can't reach agreement with him then he is free to negotiate a contract with anybody, Derby most probably now they are back in Championship. Deal is far from done.
According to the official site in January He signed until the end of the season and a transfer fee has already been agreed between the two clubs. http://www.barnsleyfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10309~1230512,00.html
Not sure how binding that is though Just that we agreed the fee should we sign him, but he's still under contract to them so they could keep him
Just hope he showed nothing to impress Jewell in the 4-0 defeat. Not much you can take though from a 4-0 home defeat against a team who had failed to score in around 9 hours before today.
RE: Not sure how binding that is though who thinks hes better than foster and souza? not me but he is still young and would be a useful signing, just dont think its end of world if we miss out on him
If Nyatanga is playing for Derby...............he is still a Derby player That means the deal has not yet been done
We have agreed a fee with Derby,so it as been thrashed out for the transfer fee. I doubt very much that BarnsleyFC would issue a statement if it wasn't all done and dusted, that includes Nyatanga's wages and contract.
On a vaguely related subject, we beat more Premiership teams than Derby this season. Surely there can't be a more inappropriately titled stadium in world football than Pride Park.
I'm Not Worried About Nyatanga Not Coming Back Jewel said in his post match comments he wanted rid of most of them, Lewin played a full game and doesn't get mentioned in the match report (he must have done something) and he was involved in a defence that leaked four against a team with one away win all season............ http://www.dcfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/MatchReport/0,,10270~36753,00.html
same here........ i would like him back, but i won't lose any sleep over it if he doesn't. It wont be that big of a miss
And not only that Reading hadnt scored for over 9 hours worth of football before Derby. I think Jewell will need to get rid of most of them or they will be following Leicester down to the Abyss
