The lad has played over 100 games for the club, mostly at a higher level & he is only 27.

Start of the season was the senior pro. (Maybe still is?)

We have a full back injury crisis & we are playing a midfielder as full back.

He was sh!te at the start of the season, but surely we need to either play him or release him???

We could do with Josh coming on as an impact sub, as we've used him this year, not playing him out of position.
(To be fair he played well there on setdi)

I'd rather have Scowen at full back than Nyatanga.

Nothing against Lewin, but he's a dreadful full back. Decent centre half on his day.

He's only 27? "His day" surely hasn't expired. If it has, let him go. That is my point.

Think those things called 'contracts' stop us doing that.

Think we will let him go at end of season.

    Good point

Nyatanga played poorly early season but maybe has had time now to get himself fit and in the right frame of mind. I would play him at full-back and like you say keep one of the 2 Joshes on the bench to freshen up the midfield later in games. If Tango plays badly, he can always be subbed, with Scowen going to right back again where I thought he had a decent match on saturday.

Every player goes through a bad patch and they usually come through it.

    Re: Good point

You do wonder why he sits on the bench week after week and never gets on the pitch.

What needs to happen before he is given a game?

Not managed to play for Wales either recently.

Aidy White was released by Rotherham.

My main point is that since Christmas we have won games by bringing players off the bench. On Saturday the bench had limited options & hence game petered out into a well earned nil, nil...

He's been largely tripe for me since he came back to the club

    He's just not a competitor.

Every other option exhausted I'd guess!

So he is just a bench warmer then. Where do they advertise that job?

    Not featured since December.

Look at our form and defensive record since then.

    Long
    Mawson
    Roberts

    Have been rock solid.

When I say on his day, I mean when he has a good game, when he's fit and in form. I wasn't calling him passed it or too old. What I meant is, he could do a job at centre back when he's at his best. Had far too many off days this season to be given the nod ahead of Mawson or Roberts.

But as a full back, he's just completely not suited for that position. He often drifts inside and gets caught out. He's not the quickest. Danny Wilson persisted with him there and it just wasn't working.

Scowen at full back isn't ideal, but it's a better option in my opinion.

I still think we would've beaten Everton if Johnson would've took Nyatanga off & replaced him with Smith just after Delofeu came on. Watching him skin Nyatanga time after time was painful

Why would you release your reserve centre back? If Roberts or Mawson get injured we'd have no cover.
