Hoping for an England clean sweep. No such thing as a dead rubber!

NZ off to a good start, 36-0 fairly quickly. Potts and Atkinson a little unlucky in my opinion. Not many of them runs have come off the middle of the bat!

England not done much wrong so far. New Zealand batting well.

Craving a line length bowler with control, almost English conditions.

    Someone like Chris Woakes…

How we haven’t taken a wicket yet i’ll never know. Some lovely drives from Young aside there’s been lots of edges and playing and missing.

At 84-0 it’s by some distance the biggest opening partnership of the series. Will take some pulling back but very early days of course.

Nice to see that we haven’t /aren’t having it all our own way, this test, we won’t learn owt if we steam roll sides every game.
Ashes cricket is the target so we need to find out who can work out the way to take 20 wickets & (imo) can only do that when under pressure.
I’ve been twice to watch in Oz & I’m off again next time, it’s unbelievable how we struggle to match the Aussies on home soil.
They are incredible, but I think our chances this time, are the best they have been for over a decade, a series win over there would be something special.

I thought we would fight back. As I said we hadn't done much wrong. We just didn't get the rub of the green. It would be one for the bucket list to visit New Zealand grounds.

It's nonstop Cricket with a Zimbabwe vs Afghanistan T20 at half 1 and South Africa vs Pakistan at 4 pm in a T20. Then it's the second day of the test at 10 pm. In the morning the Big Bash starts at 8:15 am and England women play their one off test in South Africa at 8 am.

I've visited the one in Christchurch but there was no game.on. It wasn't much better than Shaw Lane to be fair.

I have mates living in New Zealand - one in tauranga, which is a cracking little ground and it’s scarcely believable they play international cricket in it.

I have old primary school friends that emigrated to Hamilton around thirty years ago, so it would be brilliant to take in Seddon Park for an in person catch up.

Do it if you have the resources - life is too short. I'm hatching a plan to get to Aus next Christmas, do the Boxing day test match, then have a tour round NZ. Might be on my own like, but I don't care!

Ah well - you'll have to make do with a trip to Scarbados and North Marine Road for the time being!
