Do you think their wages maybe comparable at the moment?

Could it be we have to get rid of one to gain the other? If that is the case, one or tother, I would personally keep Steele.

Between you and me, pal (and everybody else) I'm led to believe he's on more at SWFC than Steele is here, but not by much.

So perhaps that is a reason. Which would have been more palatable an excuse than the "he's 28 and too old" one he used.

I too would keep Steele over COG. A lot harder to replace a quality second tier keeper than a target man striker. In my opinion.

Not sure about that. Effective strikers at this level are difficult to find. We know this.

I'd wager that Stead or Higdon would be suitable replacements for COG.

I'm ****** if I know a suitable replacement for Steele. But Ben Panic it is not. In my opinion. Obviously.

If pushed I'd keep Steele too but given that Flicker wants us to act like an established championship club I'd be disappointed if it was a situation where we could only have one or the other. To push on we need a few quality championship players.

Depends what you mean by Championship quality, Lee.

I remember Keith calling Sinclair, Buszaky and Greening just that. They were no improvement on our lower league dross (quality).

Good point but at least we know these two can perform as a Barnsley player. We need more players like these in the team not less.

If all of Cranie, Steele, COG and Hassell signed up, I'd be confident of us progressing next season, possibly mid table if we could also recruit a Stead/Higdon or Lee Barnard.

Me too Andy. We have a very good base to build on and if we can bring in some decent additions then I'd be confident that we can avoid the annual relegation scrap.
