    Cheers, both your suggestions were helpful, after a little searching I think they are called sliding plate hinges but all I can find are the modern ones. :(

    Silly question, but can you not just fit new hinges? Or are you trying to restore something?

    I suppose so JD but would be far easier if I could get the original fittings :)
