I'm hoping someone on here might be able to help out some friends of mine. They run a B&B and accidentally knocked over a guest's Honda Goldwing. It was only on the floor a few seconds, on some gravel, and nobody thought it was badly damaged at the time but now he's got back from his holiday and he's washed it he's saying it's more scratched than he initially thought and it's going to need respraying. My friends are really worried that their insurance might not cover it and are wondering if anyone might be able to suggest a ballpark figure as to how much such repairs typically cost. I realise it's hard to say without seeing the damage, but can anyone give us a steer as to what this kind of thing typically costs? Does one normally have to respray the whole bike or are localised repairs usually feasible? TIA for any words of wisdom.
Sounds suspect to me. I'm wondering if the owner has damaged the bike further? Surely there would have been a close inspection by both parties at the
Photographs are going to be provided, apparently, but it's a difficult one of course because as a small business one is reliant on one's reputation. I don't think not settling is probably a realistic option. They certainly don't dispute that they damaged the bike.
According to my mate he reckons somewhere in the region of £600 if it's the paintwork that's scratched.
They've just received the quote for 639€ so your mate's estimate was very accurate on such limited info. Thanks again, they're still pretty upset about it but it helped a lot that they knew roughly what to expect.
Glad i was able to lessen the blow. I can sympathise with their plight due to the odd mishap working as a builder.
