Unfortunately Manchester born Dave Rainford who was on the BBC show " Eggheads" has died at the age of forty nine. His general knowledge was so good, he was once banned from every pub quiz in his home city. He rose to prominence in 2005 by winning £250, 000 on Who wants to be a Millionaire and was invited to replace Barnsley born CJ de Mooi on Eggheads in 2012. He has been absent from the show for twelve months and was said to be recuperating from an undisclosed illness. RIP Tremendous knowledge Dave.
Very sad. My brother in law and his brother were close friends with him. He'd been ill for some time. Far too young. :-(
RIP TK Dave I used to work with one of the Eggheads, Barry Simmonds, he was a bit of an @rsehole and used to go round trying to impress everyone with his knowledge, this was before he was on Millionaire or Eggheads mind! Don't think many liked him fortunately I worked in an area away from his office!
He's an acquired taste is Barry. Makes me smile whenever there's a Geography question. Whatever the answer is, Jeremy Vine always claims that Bazza has been there. The most modest Egghead in my opinion, is Kevin Ashman. There's not a lot that he doesn't know. Never fails to impress.
