Thanks to everybody who has signed the online petition or voiced their concerns on here, it means a lot to us. We certainly didn't expect this level of protest, especially after all the unresolved technical issues we suffered during the station's latter matchdays. The overall depth of feeling is gratefully received - just reading the comments on the petition brings a lump to the throat. We genuinely hope that the fact the Barnsley community are showing how much they care about THEIR radio station, leads to a satisfactory resolution to everyone concerned. Kind regards Matt Bailey on behalf of the (former) Oakwell 1575AM team
Only when tha came into t'studio! Where were you tonight then? Great game at Vida. Can't tha stand a bitta rain Mr sarcastic? ;-)
RE: Only when tha came into t'studio! Well...we had some decent strikers toneet. There was actual movement, and I found em every time, dunno why that was the case. Stop spoiling my serious thread anyhow thee!
Ok Jock cheers Apologies for taking your innocent post as sarcasm. Myself & Adam Brammer have had throbbing headaches regarding this matter since late July when we realised that something was badly amiss. It's been on our minds day and night and has lost us a lot of hours on the phone/net etc, which will have been worth it if something good eventually comes out of all this. I urge Barnsleyites to be patient and see what developments occur in the future.
You'll have to trawl through all the other threads to get the gist of things mate. I'm too tired to go through it all again!
Basically theres a few people who know why it was shut down but they aren't saying, its called the John Dennis approach to **** ups
the posts don't give the gist or anything just like durkar says, a load of people saying i know but i'm not telling you.
the gist Its not BFCs fault, its not PC's fault, BFC's hands were tied Journo said some people "should hang their heads in shame" Oh and lots of "I know something you dont but wont tell anyone on here"
Ok D/T & anyone else who thinks we're being petty minded and witholding info from people just for the sheer hell of it. Approach us in the West Stand press box prior to or after the next home game against Cardiff and we'll be happy to answer any Q's you might have on the matter of the radio station's closure. We might even be able to refer you to someone who has a definitive answer re: why the plug had to be pulled.
i never statd you were witholding info or being petty about it. Its just that three people on here based with oakwellam have all quoted little bits here and there and lft huge gaps. i do not think i am the first to ask for a full summary of events nor the last and without a proper factual explination by yourself and/or the club rumour mongering heresay will prevail.
I know it's frustrating for people, but the truth will eventually out. I'm happy to pass on info about developments etc and I'll say what I can without resorting to what might be construed as slander by some. I'm very passionate about this having been at OAM since virtually day one, but you must realise that I won't directly name and shame anybody on a public forum as I don't want to give them any kind of ammunition. In short, I want to see this one through, and I'm most definitely on the side of the listeners. Please bear with us on this one.
