Can anyone please tell me the last time Oakwell was officially full? Has it been full since the Premiership e.g Birmingham in the play offs? Was it full in the Premiership? Thanks.
Because of the north stand I think we have had more in since the prem years. I think against weshday last season was the most we have had in since all seater.
Birmingham was around 19,000 - 20,000 so it wasn't even full then. So god knows where we got 35,000 for the play off final!(doh)
If there would have been owt to play for I think.. t'would have been packed to the rafters. As it was it was all over bar the shouting. 34000 vs Man City & Liverpool in the eighties and there were plenty that could not get a ticket.
RE: If there would have been owt to play for I think.. Quality night that was ! Still remember that game like it was yesterday. AYLOTT! 1-0 (nodding2fingers)
You must have forgot the 36000 against everton inthe FA Cup in the 80s??!! Neville Wheres you wife and all that!!???
RE: You must have forgot the 36000 against everton inthe FA Cup in the 80s??!! There wasn't 36,000 at that game . Thought it was more around 33,000 - 34,000 mark
32,551 to be precise. And to answer toby's question - - the last time Oakwell was full to capacity was for most (but not all) of our home matches in the Premiership season. Not been the case since then.
RE: If there would have been owt to play for I think.. your memory must be fading.. it as glyn riley wasn't it
RE: If there would have been owt to play for I think.. It was aylott back post from an Ian Banks cross
RE: If there would have been owt to play for I think.. How have I become confused.. probably carried away with the joys of my youth. Aylotts goal against Brighton in the round before.. Probably the best I have seen at Oakwell.
RE: If there would have been owt to play for I think.. You are pardoned!ff Was a great goal that one against Brighton - near the half way line if i'm not mistaken. John McDonald scored one similiar but not quite as good!
