    The fur-lined hooded variety eh?

Oh what days though.... Now THAT is what you call euphoria and looking forward to the next game. Our away support in those days says as much too.
I never got a Liverpool 'home' ticket (7 people from the turnstile on Grove Street) so we went down the evening before the game and knocked some 6 inch nails into the wall near the corner of the Brewery Stand and Spion Kop. And the blighter worked too! There must have been dozens of lads in there well before the ground opened - getting by whatever means possible - and we were all crouched low in the grss/ nettles. The police evenyually sussed the situation out, possibly prior to the gates opening(?), and you could hear chases going on all over the place along and underneath the Brewery Stand. Me and my mate were lucky.... we got asked by a hot dog seller from Bolton to stand with him and make out we were helping seeing as he understaood our plight. He was asked for his ID too and so we were thankful for his help. By kick-off we were having a pint on the North Terrace where, incidentally, the beer-shed roof was covered in supporters.

    I never Queued for tickets..........................

I worked for the Tracky up Sheffield Road and there was a bloke called Tom Hague who worked in the Workshops Office, and on the gate at Oakwell. Tom use to come round and take our orders for tickets and then he would bring them into work for us.</p>

    Happy Days indeed.
