Season ticket holder in there Had one for years and love it. Good atmosphere, bar, TV with score updates etc, pre match and half time food if you want it, free coffee and biscuits at half time, price includes program and parking spot behind the east stand. Takes some getting used to at first if you sit behind glass, but you can sit outside to watch the match if you prefer. Once you get to know the people around you it is a good laugh. After match summary from Barry "Spud" Murphy and Trelford Mills (ex referee) at about 10 past 5. After that there is a man of the match presentation and the odd player pops in. Great afternoon (or evening) out. No doubt some people will disagree.
RE: How much is it now for a season Ian ? £750 plus VAT making £862.50 which works out at £37.50 per game. Sounds a lot but if you add up the cost of a programme, car park place, coffee and biscuits it starts to seem OK. It also includes cup matches at no extra charge (if we actually get through!!!), so last year for example a season ticket holder in there would have had the Blackpool and Chelsea games thrown in.
Only been in there a couple of times myself but I enjoyed it as well. Bit odd sat behind the glass with the piped in crowd noise but other than that...........
You're just stating the obvious now! All those who go in there are tie-wearing, self righteous, ponitificators who know bugger all about football. For example, "Martin Devaney's stealing a wage from us, because he wears his socks above his knees" (seestars)
Aye mate. Must admit, I've never heard crap like that on the terraces. Never! All the people who sit outside are experts on football who know far more than all the Premier League managers put together.
Poor old Barry Murphy Must've apologised to me a dozen times that day for the bloke. In all fairness, that berk isn't a regular. The only reason I don't like it in there is the dress code. Jesus Christ and Mohandas Gandhi wouldn't be allowed in, but Doctors Crippen & Shipman would. "They must be decent blokes because they're wearing a shirt and tie!!".
RE: Poor old Barry Murphy The dress code isn't that bad, you don't have to wear a shirt and tie. It's no jeans and jogging bottoms or football shirts, now that isn't that bad. I like it in there as i hate the cold, so i have no qualms about paying more and going in there just so i keep warm!!
Sorry mate, but you are wrong You don't have to wear a tie at all, as Kanecat says. You just have to look reasonably smart. And anyway, what's wrong with wearing a tie and trying to look good? Don't see the harm in that at all.
