Back up at best. No doubt he'll give 100% but whether he's good enough is debateable.

Cannot fault his work rate but final ball lets him down too often

concur with the rest. he'll run his blood to water, and that will please many. under hill he shone, because everyone else was so dismal. but this is a different barnsley now. everyone else has stepped up, and poor old JOB is back as an average player again

He came on as sub against wolves and played well. His enthusiasm on pitch is great and could end up playing more as a wing back now

Honestly don't think there is any place for him in the team. So many players now ahead of him. Give him credit his work rate is excellent. But his footballing ability is very poor. I would rather see RNL play ahead of him.

Agreed. If the lad wants a game, he'll have to fight for it

One of the hardest working players I've ever known play for Barnsley. Sometimes that's exactly what you need, sometimes you need a bit more skill and composure. Let's hope he plays the games when that hard work is needed.

He`ll the start the season off on the bench but a couple of injuries and he maybe a regular like one or two others in the squad not first choice.

If they perform well they will retain their place, in the system played, under this regime. I am hoping for that anyways dont want another 'favourites' selecting manager

I wouldn't RNL is a left sided player & doesn't have much of a right foot. I'd rather see Mellis or Jennings on that side or Cywka.

I think you've hot the nail on the head there. He comes across as an absolutely top bloke in interviews and I would guess he's great to have around the place, but I was thinking last night that most of the team now look on a different level to Jim. Will he get left behind, or will he step up to the plate? One thing is for sure, if he wants to play then he'll need to. Whether he is capable is another thing entirely, but looking at other examples I think it would be very dangerous to write him off already.

I love him just because of his work rate.

I remember a few times last season when if effort got the crowd going and that got the whole team going.

In fact, i remember when his effort and determination to chase after the ball in front of ponty when everyone else had given up directly lead to us scoring the winning goal (think it was Brighton).

A bit of grit and determination can be exactly what you need sometimes.
