What a joke! Hes been absolutely rubbish for 2 years, why do people suddenly think that cos he has scored a couple pre season against non league teams he is going to change. Get rid now! It was like playing with 10 men at hillsbrough not to mention the fact that we kept aiming for him with free kicks etc, what a waste of time I cant understand the stick Macken gets, fair enough he is not very mobile, but he rarely wastes the ball, strong and chips in with the odd goal. We def need a left back aswell, leaving kozzy and hassell (who both have looked poor lately) to battle our for the right back slot. Macken, Hume, Boggy and Gray should be a good enuff strike force throughout the season when all fit and signed.
Didn't we aim for him when Macken scored? Wasn't there so can't really comment, but most people on here seem to think he did OK at Hillsborough and also last night. Even from the highlights it was clear he set up at least one other chance for Macken at the Pigs, in addition to the goal (which I admit might have been a mistake by the defender but at least he was under pressure from KO). We've had a good start to the season so far, let's not spoil it by getting on players' backs after 2 games. Agree with you about Macken though, good player and a valuable member of the squad.
RE: Didn't we aim for him when Macken scored? I dont want to moan after 2 games but its clear to see he is useless, and weve known that for 2 years
I haven't known that I know it's difficult, but if we had signed him in the summer and we were judging him after pre-season and 2 full games, I doubt if people would be saying he was useless. You're entitled to your opinion of course, but what good does it do slagging him off on here? Will it make him play better?
RE: Didn't we aim for him when Macken scored?
Most sensible thing you have said
C'mon, get behind the lad. Does it actually hurt to get behind him? No. We can see the difference in the way he's playing. Did you go to Lincoln yesterday? (not you Stahlrost) Did you see him flick the ball over their defender? That would never had happened last season due to the confidence, or lack of. But despite not scoring after 2 goals, he is playing with confidence and that is helped by the fans getting behind him
And yes i know i do stick up for him but it pisses me off that as soon as he does summat wrong people are straight to have a go. Good things and no praise

100% Agree I didn't go last night because of the dreaded flu (not sure it it's ordinary flu or THAT flu). He looked a different player against Man City - the guy next to me said "who's that trialist at no 9?". It's very clear that he's a confidence player, and it's also well-known that the staff and players at BFC come on here. It was great to hear the crowd backing him at the Man City game, and from what I have heard at the Pigs and Lincoln games too. All players will make mistakes, miss chances etc, even world class ones. As you say, let's give the lad praise where it's due, and constructive critiscm (not abuse or ridicule) when he deserves it.
It's Davey's job on the line here If he wants to stick with KO, that's his decision. However, based upon his scoring record so far, I think he is taking a BIG risk in this league.
it was a different player compared to last season, big strong, agreesive and direct, the amount of times he bullied past his defender(s) , should have put one of his half chances away but if he plays like that saturday he'll be fine.
Re: Odejayi Barnsleys Number 9 From what I've seen and heard it all looks and sounds positive so far. Can't understand where this "like playing with 10 men" business comes from?????? I keep getting told we mustn't keep going back to the past - that goal against Chelsea etc etc etc. Fair enough, let's leave the past in the past, good and bad, and judge him on how he is playing NOW.
RE: It's Davey's job on the line here I don't think Ko will be Davey's first choice once the new striker comes in, but at present he can't play Boggy and Maken because not enough high balls would be won resulting in too much perssure on our defence.
Re: Odejayi Barnsleys Number 9 Because people WILL NOT forgive him for that miss. That's the main problem

Re: Odejayi Barnsleys Number 9 It was a bad miss, we all know that, but I've seen far worse. The significance of the occasion makes it stand out more than other bad misses we have seen. If we have to forget the goal against Chelsea, we also have to forget the miss against Cardiff. Seems only fair to me. Let's concentrate on the here and now. Good luck KO.
Re: Odejayi Barnsleys Number 9 I will be there Saturday flu or no flu. He will open his account on Saturday.
Re: Odejayi Barnsleys Number 9 Its a bit more than that Doddy to be fair aint it. Cant remember Barnard being not forgiven for his Wembley penalty miss.
Lets clear up one big error in your post "It was like playing with 10 men" Odejayi is not a joke of a player and he has a real influence on the field. He is a nuisance to the opposition defenders and he wins a decent amount of headers. He doesnt score enough goals at this level and after 2 years I dont believe he ever will which is why I think we should be using other players, but to say its like playing with 10 men is just not true
