Okay so he went from Hero to Zero after taking us to the semi-final with THAT goal, then missing THAT chance. But i cannot believe he goes out purposely to NOT score. He was terribly underconfident last season , and God did we manage to enhance that. He is never going to be the greatest striker on earth, but maybe he can improve and start getting a few. He has now scored in every pre season game, which must be bolstering his confidence. It may also be giving him that hunger that all strikers must have too. But the bottom line is this, he crosses the white line in a BARNSLEY SHIRT. He is one of OUR team, he deserves our help by our encouragement, lets give it a go this season, who knows with the crowd on his side and not on his back he may, just may, turn the corner. Well its worth a go , isn't it ??

No idea. Definitely not at work, though. Honest.

    He's terrible.

I've never booed him, but he isn't good enough. If we're relying on him for the goals, we're in trouble.

I think he's had more encouragement and support than he deserves. As long as he wears a reds shirt I'll support him but it will take a lot more than a few pre season goals to convince me he is anything other than ****.

    Yes

Can't go into details, too busy arguing about fox-hunting, but yes, we should support all our players

Well there's no point in booing him

We've witnessed what that does to his game.

Have to say he's let himself go over the summer though. Think he needs to get in the gym.

Yes give the lad our full support. Interesting that last Saturday both Macken and Bogdanovic missed easy chances during the game. Not a single word of criticism was heard. If it had have been Ode who missed them, all hell would have broken loose. How many goals have Macken and Bogdanovic scored so far pre-season?

    Thing is

the guys confidence seems so fragile that as soon as a couple of things go against him when the real stuff starts and the pressures on I can't see anything other than him reverting to type ie pretty mediocre at championship level (and thats being polite). It would be a bonus if he did come good and I would be happy for the lad but just cant see it happening, theres a world of deifference in scoring in hal paced games against less than committed opposition and the real thing.

    RE: He's terrible.

well we do have more than him and the others did not exactly run riot last season did they, but they did not get any where near the flack KO got.

The funny thing, in my opinion, is...

he has the measure of defenders at ALL levels, whether it be Conference, Championship or as we've seen, top tier Premiership defenders. It's the keepers and those funny net things he has problems with. He doesn't seem to be able to get power and accuracy in his shots. Ever. Can you imagine him scoring from outside the area? Like Hume or JCR can? I can't. I can imagine him scoring scrambled goals, I can imagine him nodding a few in. I just can't understand how someone who plays fairly high level professional football cannot shoot. He can turn defenders, he can out-pace defenders, he can bundle his way through defences, he can out-muscle defenders. If only we could graft Werling's leg onto KO.

But yes, please get behind him lads.

he has had loads of support

all last season whenever he came on the fans get behind him, booing all cut out, okay the cheers are ironic and people spend a lot of time laughing at him, but from his view on the pitch lots of cheering and support he has had more than any other player i can think of, off the back of so little.

Did he not get Man of the Match one day and nearly the whole stadium laughed?
