    people will be saying we don't need a striker soon, just because he's scored against buxton and

    Doesn't matter who we are playing. He is hitting the target. That is all he can do, even when we get to the league games.

    He can only score agianst who he's up against

    Yes, its only Buxton etc, but what else can he (or anyone else for that matter) do, just now
    1. Look good in training
    2. Score in friendlies

    He isn't going to be a world beater; he may never be a Championship striker, but he IS out-scoring every other player at the club.

    the guys had more than enough chances dont understand why people think this will change cos hes playing against non league sides.

    its called confidence mate! scoring gives you confidence something he's never had up to now at Barnsley

    He scored against Chelsea, one of the best sides in Europe

    against The England captain etc. Yet still had no confidence in himself.
    Its not confidence, its belief. He knows he can play at the level of Buxton etc. but does not believe he is good enought to play against Championship sides, of course that is only my opinion.

    I think you're right

    Confidence is not his problem. He scored for fun in pre season the year we signed him didnt he? And that was coming off the back of scoring loads in the **** league he came from then he got in the championship and 5 goals in two years followed

    Who said they think it will change?

    Not me, I just said give the lad a break - credit where it's due etc.

    He's done all he can in pre season to get his name on the team sheet at Hillsbro.

    I'm doubtful he's going to be one of our top 2 strikers, but I'm willing to praise him for his efforts. I'd like nothing more than to see him come good.

    I don't give a monkeys whether it's fitness, confidence or belief - I just hope he comes good. Finally.

    I kn ow who I would back to score out of Macken and Oddjob!

    and it aint the one scoring against Buxton and Gainsbro`
