i dont care who slates him. he is a physical presence, i know strikers are meant too score but he runs his socks off for barnsley fc, i know he gets in them positions but by god if he could finish he wouldn't be in our squad at all, who else knocks a ball down for the strikers we have got any ideas? overall i thought he played reasonably well tonight. its a bit like the old Sheron argument though you just can't afford to have one of your 2 main front men not getting amongst the goals on something like a regular basis

Agree with most of what your're saying but his inability to score goals, for someone who earns a wage as a striker boggles my mind.

RE: looking at the live update on BBC .....

...it is suprising how many fouls he draws from defenders. Nearly every mention of OJ is followed by a "fouled by" or words to that effect. I thought he caused them problems all night down the right hand side. He just doesn't score enough goals when he has time to think ..... but with he would take some pressure of any striker with a nose for goal (if only we had one) Don't think he is the lame duck some on here would have us believe.

    RE: ODEJAYI !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Cant Finish)

Cant afford to have him in the side, its no good bursting through defences if u cant put the ball in the back of the net

He intimidates defenders, he wins the ball in the air, he holds the play in the final third, he is strong and deceptively quick. I genuinely believe his is worth his place. He works extremely hard.

Does he run his socks off?

Looked like he couldn't be arsed half the time to me.

Lets create a NEW position then

as Strikers Assistant, and be gratefull for the havoc he causes defences, cause if he was a true striker he would'nt be at Oakwell . And I dont mean he would be in the Conference, just get off his back. We are mid table (if were lucky) Championship side thats Championship not Champions League

    Exactly

It just fecks me off so much that people just have to have a go at him regardless. So quick to criticise him but don't hear people giving praise where due. If you're gonna give the stick then you need to give the praise

I admit that he should have buried that but that apart can anybody really say that he had a bad game??? Think it was one of his best games for us

So because he is not good enough in the position we pay him to play, we should create a new position

just for him and all the other "strikers" that cant score goals. Maybe we should ask the FA if we can play with 12 men while we are at it that way we could play him and someone that CAN score.

I agree, but I think he'd be a lot more effective as a supersub. nt

He was ****. Couldn't be arsed after 55 minutes to chase anything! Looked like he was forcing himself just to run after the ball, and then on some occasions he just didn't bother.

And playing him out wide is suicide. I'd have rather Van Homoet play down that side. Least he'd get up and down!

Caused them problems all night? Give over

He vanished for most of the second half, and failed to chase down at least 3 or 4 balls.

He's not good enough, simple as. If he was this big physical presence some of you say he is then we wouldn't have had our backs to the wall for the last 30 minutes!

Stealing a living and will probably be looking for a new club in the summer. Davey cannot waste a squad place on renewing his.
