Davey needs to get him by the scruff of his bloody neck and instill some confidence in him.</p>

He is like a scared rabbit, trapped by a car's headlights.</p>

His frst touch is all to pieces and it is all because he has no confidence in himself at this level.</p>

    He has the attributes.</p>

    Lat's see 'em!</p>

Absolutely no excuses for booing him onto the pitch though

He's a Reds player. Get behind him. I think we all know his limitations, but he needs support.
What makes it worse is that Barnsley fans were laughing when their fans booed their player off the pitch ... at least he'd put in a crap performance to deserve a bollocking..... absolutely no excuse to boo a player coming onto the pitch... those who did should be ashamed.
I'm not sure about Odejayi as a first choice striker. Thought Macken showed alot more obvious quality, but I was embarassed at the reception we gave to our own man.

he might not be good enough but at least encourage the lad. Supporters should never boo any players from there own team it does no good they know when they havent played well, and if they dont im pretty sure davey will tell them so.

    I can't stand the booing.
Al at Oakwell need to get behind the team.
The fans need to get behind him.
He is lacking in self belief that's all, it's obvious.
I still think that he will come good for us.
It's hard though for anyone to instill self belief if you are lacking it.
Davey needs to be patient and so do the fans.
I think Odejayi will come good eventually . all I want is someone in the coaching staff to work closely with him and give him that self belief that he so clearly lacks, that's all
Then he can change his fortunes on the pitch.
He has thge attriibutes, pace ans surely the need, the rest is up to him - fire back and show us what you can do.

    No he won't.
I have very confidence that he will come good.
My argument is that he just doesn't believe in himself.
It's going to affect his allr ound game if he doesn't start believing in himself more.

Signed to give us power and pace up front and I think that he does do just that. Look again at Devaney's winner at Southampton and see how Kay's physical strength turned the defender out wide and created the chance for disco. Worth remembering what life was like without him with lightweight forwards with little pace, nor strength, who couldn't punch their way out of a paper bag. His first touch does need to be refined, but we bought raw talent and it will come good, especially if he gets a chance to come on a little more gradually, by coming off the bench for a few games. If he gets a goal or two from the bench, that will help his confidence.

Odejayi.................has anybody thought about the service he's getting

Odejayi aint no big bruzzen bleeding centre forward
He's a player that needs the ball threaded through for him to run onto - an Hignett type would ignite Odejayi's play
What we are doing at the moment is hoofing the ball high to him with his back to the goal
Christiansen would be better if thats the only way we can play
But start to bring Odejayi into the game properly and we have a reight player

I'd like to see him on the wing in a practice match to see how he played

I thought he was bone idle lazy when he came on. He came on late and so had bags of energy. Too many times he was wondering around in no mans land. Just lacking some confident me thinks.

Self Belief & Strength Of Character

If he is lacking in Self Belief & Strength Of Character, then he will struggle to play professional football at a high level - irrespective of his other "attributes". You also need to show effort and determination when things are not going well.

I fully agree that the public should get behind him, but he is not helping himself at the minute.

Take yesterdays, appearance. All he had to do was run around for 10 minutes and help close the game out - he wasn't under any pressure to score a goal or make something happen. Instead, he just stood around and contributed nothing.

Funny how this backlash has come about

we lose two games and suddenly The Emperor is getting all this stick!!!

Wasn't long back that we were winning and his contribution, in terms of holding ball up, winning free kicks etc was first class

STRIKERS NEED SERVICE, our players haven't given this before Saturday, i agree it takes two and the lads up front have got to get involved and try and make it happen, but when our captain fantastic is playing as bad as he is at minute, our supposed playmaker, what chance have they got???

Its fu*ckin simple football, play to our strengths, Odejayi is at his best with balls to run onto and balls to feet, not firing it at his head every 2mins,when its obvious he isn't the best in the air.

As far as i am concerned the lad is doing well enough and will get better, but what chance has he got with what now appears to be a large set of morons for fans???

What makes me laugh is Brian Howard was poor Saturday, was against Burnley and Cardiff, but Ooo no lets sweep that under carpet and have a pop at the new lad instead
