Let's get a few things straight. We're never gonna win the Premiership, we're never gonna qualify foe the Champions League, we'll never get to a cup semi final (oh!) so what do we have left? Well, a willingness to ENTERTAIN and a team that attempts to pass the ball about a bit, maybe even winning the odd game. So, that's O'Driscoll or Wilson for me. It might be harsh on Donny, but it is a fact that we're 'bigger' than them, just as it's a fact that Washday are 'bigger' than us. There's greater potential at BFC than at Rovers, and perhaps O'Driscoll might see this. After all, why did he move to Donny from elsewhere? As for Wilson, well, I've nowt against Washday. Showing anything apart from indifference and ambivalence is giving them credit where none's due. At BFC, Wilson turned a no-budget side into one that played football and, and after 3 seasons of steady improvement, achieved the miracle of promotion. There might be little chance of THAT again, but after 3 seasons of (insert appropriate criticism of Davey here) there's no doubt he can't be worse. The Adams link is a worrying one tho. I read a paper that said 'Tony Adams has been linked with BFC' and I got to thinking 'Has he?' Surely it's the paper I'm reading from that's linking him with us??? Anyway, if I'm being charitable, I'll just say he might make a decent #2 at a Premiership club. So let's wait till we get there! That is all.
I agree with all of that mate Basically, Donny Rovers are at their high water mark now - they're not going to get very much bigger before the bubble will burst. If you were running that ship you'd know when to get out. The next logical step up from them is someone like us. I'm sure that he's there for the taking if we want him. As you say - the next manager doesn't have to be looking at the Premier League - he just has to present us with some decent entertainment, some proper pass and move football, that can keep us midtable for a few seasons. That's why I want Danny Wilson - but i agree with what you've said about O'Driscoll too.
Didnt people say that about Wimbledon Several times during their rise through the leagues to a top 5 finish in the First Division and FA cup victories Donny are bigger now than Wimbledon were then - I dont think Promotion to the Prem is likely for them but its not our of the question
Great Post from Site Admin there - very welcoming!! Nice one mate Just because you don't agree with the guy is there any need to abuse him!!! Glass houses ...
Don't agree with that Donny are a club on the up at the moment, as for size/potential - similar size to Barnsley in terms of potential support. I think some people are falling into the Wendy mentality.
