went with em to notts forest match with mi young lad (aged 7) - never again, Full of young blokes who couldn't stop swearin and singing racist chants in front of the kids. And a group of 14 year old, pissed up lasses.

All right if that sort of stuff makes you a big mister, but not a group to be taking kids with. /poo

That shouldn't come as a surprise on a pub coach

So because it's a pub coach it should be expected that the people around them can't behave?

Yes - you do expect rowdy behaviour on a pub coach. If you want to avoid a boisterous trip, book on the official coaches from the club. It isn't rocket science.

I first started travelling to away games in 1978 and they were all pub coaches in those days (even the supporters club went from the old social club at the ground). It was also the era when you could take beer on the coach.

The first non-pub experience I had was when I started going with the Yorkshire Traction to appease some boring mates I was going with at the time. Until the club started running official coaches, there were no reliable coaches that weren't run by the pubs. The Tracky played a bit, as did Globe, but none of them could be relied upon week in, week out.

Nowadays I only travel on the 'boring' coaches, mainly because I don't want to set off ridiculously early, I'm not bothered about ale stops any more and want to get there for the kick off.

It\'s a pub coach, it\'s bound to be full of piss heads. Kids shouldnt really be going on them IMO.

Okay - When I went with Odwyers for the Notts Forest match, I asked on here whether it was suitable for kids

    http://www.barnsleyfc.org.uk/bbs/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=127031&posts=9#M842112

    One reply:

Jesus! I'd hate to go with a coach party that was worse.

If it weren't suitable for kids, then when I bought the tickets and specifically said I'd be taking my young lad, he should have made it clear it wasn't advisable.

Kids out the way - As an adult, I found most of the language offensive - Some folk couldn't sting a sentence together without 'Fuxk' and 'Cuxt' being used before and after every other word. How do these people get through life? Do they have jobs? Do they have parents?

And as for the racist chanting - ie. "I'd rather be a Paki than a Scab' FFS - It was like being on the Sunshine coach.

Aye, and the hard guys gesturing at the Notts Forest fans around the ground. Hard as nails until the driver stopped the coach and suggested they got off there and let them sort it with em. Oops.. It's all gone quiet. lol

Nar, it was a **** day. We stopped off for a couple of hours, 5 miles outside Nottingham at some backwater village where all the pubs bart one was shut. And that one only had one bar staff. Within 10mins one of the girls that was on our coach had puked up all inside the pub, whilst the others were pestering folk at the bar to 'Get us a pint'.

Sorry, but I'm trying to bring my lad up right - Hopefully he won't turn into some of the examples that were out that day.
