..with the prospect of a complete collapse of the EU the commissioners will re-costitutionalise the EU. The 'new' EU will only deal with economic/trade agreements. Issues relating to migration, law, currency will be left for each country's parliament to legislate for. British electorate will accept that. Scotland will not leave the uk - declining oil reserves and the possibility of having to join the Euro zone will have a massive impact. ...and Teresa May becomes the P M in October.
Don't think the EU will ever learn TBH, I've seen a couple of their higher ups saying they have to learn from this but neither mentioned the stupid amounts of money that they waste or the stupid salaries and expenses that they pay.
Not when their industries revolt at the thought of losing UK trade!! Think when everyone's had a good sleep on this we'll see the future a lot less doom and gloom as today. I'm not saying voting leave was the right thing to do. But we have to approach this as a new dawn. And things can, and hopefully will, work out for all. Including our friends in Europe.
the 'higher-ups' will be in a state of panic as they face the prospect of other countries opting out - the fewer 'rich' countries in the EU the greater the financial burden will be on the other countries to contribute - to bale out Greece for example. Like it or not the UK is intertwined in the EU - trade agreements will have to be honoured etc- my guess is that it will be impossible for the UK to detach completely from the EU Listening to them being interviewed there is a sense that some of the leaders of the Leave campaign are now backtracking a bit because the reality is that leaving will be horrendously complicated.
Boris is certainly back tracking - but thats because he joined leave because it was the opposite side to Cameron. He wants to be PM but he doesnt want to be saddled with the mess he is going to inherit in the party and country and have to somehow come up with a deal that doesnt destroy UK's ability to generate money Thats going to be a bit tricky as the Economist explains (Not that that is of any interest to those who voted solely on immegration control http://www.economist.com/news/brita...will-be-new-prime-minister-volatile-financial
My missis is French. Talking to her family last night and this morning the general feeling is that they can't wait to show is that out means out and enjoy their favourite sport of ******* the British over.
Urban Parisians i.e the ones with power. Her uncle who is particularly delighted with our decision is a pretty senior figure on the left of Hollande's government.
