Anyone bought stuff from Amazon Marketplace and found the goods did not perform as described and the had problemsith the Review Policy? 'The trader had reproduced the product marketing blurb' and I gave it 1 star only and criticised the product as not 'doing what it said on the tin'. Amazon rejected the review saying it did not "comply with their policy" as I was commenting on the product rather than the trader. Err.... Hello!!!.....surely the buying experience is mainly about satisfaction with the item you bought more than the fact it arrived quickly. Anyway, I reworded it in such a way that it was accepted only to get an email from the trader moaning that it wasn't down to him and I have waited 40 days to post a review without contacting him (I explained there was a valid reason for that). I have politely responded saying that, not only have I NOT asked for a refund, but I did not say anything negative about his communications, speed of delivery etc. I DID, however, point out that, fairly or unfairly, the trader is ultimately responsible for ensuring his goods are of merchandisable quality and, regardless of what he uses to describe the items on his website, they should be an accurate description of same. A number of other reviews described the same issues (yes, I know! Why did I buy it then??) so I pointed out that perhaps he should contact the manufacturer to resolve the issues or stop stocking the item. Has anyone else had this problem where Amazon seem to want reviews on the traders but there appears to be a block on any negative reviews of the items they sell? If I bought a car and the showroom was luxurious and the salesman helpful and delivery fast but the car turned out to be a dog would that mean under Amazon's rules I would have to give it 5 starts and a positive feedback?? Rant over!
That's terrible. I always tend to only buy items that are sold or fulfilled by Amazon themselves when I order from there. I wonder if they have the same policy on items sold by themselves.
I use Amazon and Amazon marketplace all the time, have done for years, and aside from one bad experience I have had no issues at all.
Re: Off topic: Oops!! My mistake -there is a separate review section for products. I posted against the seller. My excuse it was Amazon.it and my Italian is still sh*t even though I now live here
