    We thought Macken was excellent

apart from the worse penalty I've seen.

Once he went off we lost the movement up front which was causing them problems

The two of them looked like they might be able to form

a partnership based on yesterday's performance. maybe.

The two of them play too similarly.

They both drop too deep. We need to start Hume with somebody who either plays on the last shoulder, or a big man who can dominate, win the ball, and score goals while also directing flick ons for Hume. None of the strikers at the club can do that role. Macken should be the alternate to Hume, not the partner.

    He's at Ipswich.

With a permanent deal in January.

    Alan Lee

For me either Alan Lee would have been the perfect signing for us, consistent Championship Striker, good in the air and can put the ball in the back of the net.
Palace paid £600k for him recently, would have been perfect to play alongside Hume or Macken. If not him then Stead would have been another good option.
