* First congratulations to Rob Knowles and his wife on expecting their third child. * The league table in the programme had Burnley above us for some reason. * The March part of the fixture list had if we are home or away mixed up. There's probably more as well, but at least the address has been corrected for this place on the sponsors page.
Give it a break Dreamboy Please just give it a break unless you are prepared to take up his offer to meet him. It is getting boring and tedious.
RE: Give it a break It's only two things and i'm sending my best wishes with the other thing. I am not blaming Rob for it either. The league fair enough, but the fixtures have been like that the last few times and not changed. It's no biggy to me but can get confusing to some. What I say is taken the wrong way.
Dreamboy never meets anyone and criticises everyone and thinks it's OK to reveal the endings of books to avid readers. That gives him a thumbs down in my book for starters.
I've met plenty of people, i've been mainly positive on here for weeks and I didn't reveal the ending to anyone unless they asked.
No. You never meet anyone from the Club so as to air your criticisms face to face. Anyone can hide behind a keyboard and criticise. That's a coward's way if you ask me. As for revealing the ending of the last Harry Potter story. You wrote that you thought it was hilarious how some people were being told the ending before they had read it. I can't be arsed to find the post but it was words to that effect. I have always remembered it. As I said Thumbs down from me.
lol. You're right to point it out mate!! That programme costs a fortune and is always littered with mistakes! Its not just one offs its every week! I could do better me sen!! Other people might be prepared to pay for crap!
Three quid is a lot of money and it's not like i'm fussy like in the old days. The fixtures for March have been wrong for the past three home matches now. The last time they were right was the Scunny programme. This isn't having a go, as it's not the first or even second time it's happened. They have fixtures in bold for home and then have an A for away beside it. I read the Burnley part where it said they were mid table, a few points behind us and not won since middle of september and then saw the league table had them above us.
I agree totally! These are elementary mistakes! I can only presume its a lazy attitude, and the person responsible knows they can get away with it! Fair enough mistakes will be made, it is inevitable and I'm sure those responsible have time constraints etc. But the consistency of the shoddy standard is just not acceptable bearing in mind the cost!! With regards to the fixtures, surely they has to be one of the easiest things to get right. People use those fixture listings to make plans a couple of weeks in advance. Knowing the liklihood of mistakes this would obviously be foolish!
What Rob needs is someone to look at his proofs. I have to write the NUT Campaigning newsletter for Barnsley NUT every month. I do it. Leave it, then Owl checks it for me and any corrections are made, I then send it to area secretary who checks again before it's printed. It seems a simple enough thing to do. You can't produce a magazine and be the only one who checks it. You are not aware of your own mistakes and don't 'see' them as someone else might.
Dreamboy = Puff lets look at the facts, his name Dreamboy, they were a group of male strippers, he likes WWE wrestlers, men with hardly no clothes on and finally he is always banging on about High School Musical, the most gayest film I have ever heard of.
DREAMBOY IS A SHIRT LIFTER

Agreed with that. It's like when you write something for someone else (like when you were a pupil at school writing something to hand to the teacher). They would ask you to make sure it's correct before you hand it in and then when you get it back there's a couple of mistakes you missed, even though you looked at it multiple times. The fixture list cannot be the fault of Rob anyway I wouldn't have thought. Surely that part of the programme is on a templet or something.
I agree that there are some mistakes that need to be rectified and that Rob should have help to proof read/edit the notes. However, if you must keep having a go at people making mistakes shouldn't you proof read your own posts before pressing submit? For example: * The March part of the fixture list had if we are home or away mixed up. i'm i've So Early Opinion i'd Having Just Seen The Goals On Championship Burnley cannot be happy in letting one of the smallest men on the pitch a free header for the equaliser either. I'll stop there as I can't be bothered to read anymore.
Agreed with that Tina! Thats prob a big reason for the shoddiness! I'm sure Dreamboy would proof read for nowt...he seems to have lots of time on his hands does lad!
Difference is we don't charge to read our rubbish! When the programme is expensive a basic standard of product is expected!
