NOTE: The number of page impressions the club get on the official site also improves the ammount of money going into the club coffers. We all know we need every penny we get our hands on so if you'd got out of the habit of visiting the club site then could I suggest you visit it more frequently?
The club are aware of the short comings of the site and plans are in place to rectify these.

    Mixed emotions

reasonably pleased to see those leaving, but Foster retained, ever present in our leaky dog defence, hoping he's more squad player than first choice next season.

So, where does that leave Sir Bobby then, not been released or offered a new contract at this time. His he still in contract then?

Well if you are right hemsworth-tyke, that's great news, for me anyway. The defense looks better & stronger with Bobby in it, then it does without him.

Would have kept Doyle, but he wanted to be a first choice player.

Bit surprised about Cotterill, as he seems exactly the right type of player for what we're (allegedly) trying to achieve. Wonder if his agent was asking for too much cash to re-sign, or maybe his fitness really is as dire as his sparse performances would suggest, although nothing a good solid pre-season wouldn't go some way to fixing. Or have I missed something?

Thanks for stating the obvious. Most football players want to be first choice.

Thought he looked poor in all honesty, his performance at Hull was one of worst I've seen in a Barnsley shirt.

    Re: Mixed emotions

I was quite excited when we signed Cotterill and still think he could be an asset to most Championship clubs, but in all honesty, his Peterborough performance and goal aside, he's just looked so disinterested, it's almost untrue. I wouldn't think the club would be too keen on paying his wages (which reportedly, exceeded £12,000 per week when he was at Swansea City).

I think they said that they were discussing a deal with Andy Gray but I guess if there was a huge gap between what we were prepared to pay and what Andy wanted there is no point making a formal contract offer.

For Butterfield we have to make an offer for the tribuneral to kick in even though we know he wont accept it
