CALLUM BRITTAIN DEPARTS OAKWELL Club News Barnsley Football Club can announce that Callum Brittain has today joined Blackburn Rovers for an undisclosed fee. Continue reading on the official site...
I thought he was exactly the player we needed when we signed him. Showed quality and 100% commitment. Had a bad season which IMHO has lowered any fee and allowed us to lose a good player.
What's with the obsession with letting people who want to leave us say a few words on the official site? It never used to be a thing.
Good luck Callum. It didn't work out for you last season but that was probably down to other circumstances, from on high.
Quite peeved by this. Out of all our ‘saleable’ players I thought he’d have been the one we would’ve kept but I guess not. This leaves us now with the headache of replacing him, the season starts a week on Saturday and we now only have one right wing back at the club and believe me I’m one of Jordan Williams’ biggest fans but the lad is unfortunately very injury prone. Hondermark for me will never be a wing back, he looks too gangly and awkward when he plays there, much prefer him in the middle. Honestly struggling to be optimistic about the new season. Just my opinion, but it looks to me like Promotion is not the aim this season.
I love one to say fans were A SS holes, didn't settle in the town as it's full of mong's. Managers hated me, teammate were sh173 and I'm getting a treble wage rise by pikeing off. Adiós.
some organisations have a whip round when someone leaves the company and a presentation. Saying a few public words of thanks doesn't hurt.
You could have the code breaker in the Ey Up and Down to de-cypher. I want to thank the club = Can you pay my outstanding wages The fans have been great = But glad to see back of em We have had ups and downs - We have generally been ****, but won a cup game once Enjoyed my time at the club = the sausage sarnies at break were good Have too many memories to remember them all = The end of season Vegas trip was ace
I didn't rate Brittain. However, we were told that we would look to hang onto as many players as we could. With Poznan in for Helik and Styles verbally wanting away. That's gone for a Burton.

They all say that when they move. Some of our signings have said similar coming here. It is just the usual new signing PR nonsense.
Gutted about this as I liked Callum. Can only wish him luck. Now then, where’s that list of right wing backs that are free agents? In all seriousness though, I hope we get a replacement in sharpish, ready for game 1.
Sad to see him go, but he was an expected departure for me. Along with Styles, his form deteriorated the most under our two inept head coaches last year, so I can see why he'd want a fresh start elsewhere. I fully expect that he'll return to the form we saw from him under Val, when he pretty much stepped straight into the first team and immediately improved it. It's a pity he never did get that elusive goal for us. My only concern is that there's no reference to any sell-on clause in the announcement, which seems to be a recurring theme with this summer's sales. I can see Brittain returning to form at Blackburn and then continuing to improve further, but presumably the priority is to maximise our up-front fee to fill the "Conway hole" in finances, as it should now be known.
Thus far losses of key players have been off set by free transfers. I wonder who we'll be signing this week? It's a club trait I've noticed for a few years. A bit of bad news is usually off set with a signing to try and lift the gloom.
