enjoy retirement Barry. Thanks for all you’ve done for Barnsley. Especially during the dark times when you put your hand in your own pocket to help the club.
Been with us through a lot of good days and bad. Got us some international matches which will hopefully happen from time to time. Happy to read he still plans to come and watch games. Imagine the book he could write.....If it was honest and not all about back slapping it would be a really great read. So many managers, players and board members during his time with us. Be fascinating to hear his side like when John Dennis did a book.
Seen us through some crunch times has Barry, paved the wafer where we are and the trio of trips to Wembley. Good to see he can now breakaway from the club, maybe sit back, have a bourbon and hobnob with the nice connection, now that we've a rich tea-m. Happy retirement.
Barry has been an excellent servant to the club for 34 years and deserves a wonderful retirement. Some of the comments to the club statement/news of his retirement and the endless stream of bit rate biscuit gags are just terrible. The biscuit stuff was mildly amusing 4/5 years ago when WSB mentioned it in the fanzine around the same time as Martin Cranie toast stuff but deary me, it’s just bad news now. If I’ve read one biscuit line I’ve read a thousand.
