80% of people opted for a new crest so we are staying with the current one ?

TBH I really don't give a toss about the badge

it does not win games does it. I was a bit pissed off with the buggering about on what badge to wear, but really did not care too much. Just like I give not a toss about TV's in the concourses, Ale in the Ponty or a new scoreboard. If or when we climb the league and get established again then look at the trimmings. But until then can we concentrate on the team ..thank you

Only 20% apparently voted then for keep it. Where as every website implied more like 90%. Glad it's staying

it says 80% voted for a new crest. the way I'm reading this is that the 80% was roughly split across the 4 new designs, with the remaining 20% voting to keep it. in other words, there was no overwhelming majority for any one of the new designs, and enough of a vote for the existing one, to justify keeping it.

personally, i don't think it's a vote of confidence for the existing badge. i think it's more a vote of no confidence for any of the new designs. maybe someone will call that out tonight. i support a brand refresh and a new club crest. i just don't support a $hit one. and they were all $hit.

the right decision and yet again, Ben has proved he listens to the fans. i'm getting increasingly impressed with him.

I think there's something up with the figures there.

If 80% voted for a new crest then 20% voted to keep the current crest.

For D to have finished neck and neck it must have gained about 20% as well.

That leaves 60% to be split between the remaining 3. So how can D and the current crest have finished neck and neck ahead of the rest?

agreed, it's not advance statistical analysis from the club. but i think they're basically saying there isn't a clear winner to justify selection, while there was enough of a vote to keep the existing one, to justify it. it will actually cost the Club quite a bit of money to rebrand as well, so it's actually not in their interests to do it, unless there's a groundswell of support. which there isn't. it's also $hit timing, with matters on the pitch.

all round, it's just the right thing to stick with what we have for now. wise decision.

I think you are spot on in everything you have said i that post,
As for Mansford he seems to be doing the right things, just wish he'd pick up the pace a little and get things done with a bit more urgency

It says "NEARLY" 80% , not 80 % . So it might have only been 78% which leaves 22% for the old badge .
    Just a thought.

Anyone who has ever sat in a corporate meeting talking about the damage limitation of an ill-advised policy or motion - will know exactly where Ben's coming from in that statement. Well played. :D

Don would have smacked somebody. Probably Bazzer.

Maybe next time they may start with an initial question along the lines of "Do you feel a change of club badge/crest is important?"

The result of that may well have stopped this process in it's tracks, or at least given them wriggle room.

When bad options are put forward in a highly subjective process, this was highly likely to happen. The best outcome is one of those horrendous designs hasn't been pushed through as a token winner.

Best of an ultimately bad job in the end

FFS !!!............new young chief executive wanting to make the club more attractive to a wider fan base...........but is out voted by the flat cap and flask brigade

If I was Ben I'd put this to bed for a year and then just announce a new logo sometime next season........

Only positive of this is this...........Ben will have learnt a hard lesson here........
NEVER ASK BARNSLEY FANS FOR THEIR OPINION

Those new badges were introduced by our new chief executive Ben Mansford........if I'm a knob head then you must be suggesting the same for Ben.
Think before you open it..........calling childish names losers you the debate

And have a bit of respect for a guy that's trying to do his best for Barnsley Football Club
