"The amount paid by Everton to Barnsley is Commercial in Confidence, and we would have expected that David Moyes would be bound by that obligation of confidentiality to his former employer."

Does 'Commercial in Confidence' not count downstairs in the No 7?

I am guessing the initial payment will have been 1.25m with further add ins for England debut and appearances for Everton, not uncommon for deals for young players.

I think this is just Patrick's way of calling Moyes out for being a lovely person and trying to revive his flagging career by in some way trying to claim the John Stones signing. Kn0bhead

i may have got this wrong but wasn't stonsey in talks with wigan at last knockings of the window and just about to sign for them then all of a sudden everton raise their heads and he's off there, within a very short amount of time ( hours) moyes is off to old Trafford and Martinez the guy who initially tried to sign stonsey has taken over at everton where he ended up. I personally think that moyes was to busy worrying about old Trafford and Martinez tipped j.s. the wink about everton........... only an opinion and not based on anything

So because David Moyes wasn't involved in the negotiations he can't have possibly asked his bosses how much it cost for Stones to be added to his squad....Maybe we forced Everton to keep the price a secret from Moyes.....All this over a stupid confidentiality clause that wasn't needed. If it wasn't for that we'd have had a better chance of finding out who's closer to the truth.

No mystery here - Moyes forgot the blackie's egg.

I think you've got that spot on, Marc. The club's damned if it doesn't clarify it and damned if it does.

Stones wasn't even signed by Moyes really.

Was all on the recommendation of the scouts and coaches who watched him. Moyes never saw him play live, allegedly of course.

Take away Ronald McDonald's makeup and you have David Miyes.

    This is embarrassing.

We should just let it go - we blame Moyes for breaking a confidentiality agreement (probably out of all innocence) yet we lower ourselves to his standard by saying things like this.
