That's potentially one of the biggest ever signings for us as long as there is no poor buy out clause. Come on Fabio no slow starts to games.
I remember when Stones turned down some big clubs to stay with us a bit longer and not get lost in an academy somewhere. It certainly didn’t do him any harm.
Delighted. Great news. He’ll get plenty of chances with injuries & games off the bench. No point chucking him in for a run of starts unless it’s deserved which it isn’t at the minute with the form of our front two
Fantastic business - a real positive to start the window. We all understand it’s unlikely he’ll be here for all of that time, but it’s likely to be at least another year or two for him here and hopefully a sound financial return if he develops as we suspect he will. Well done to all involved. Let’s hope the same urgency is applied to sourcing centre back reinforcements!
Terrific news. Got to give Bobby credit for this, letting him listen to his Dad's experience, rather than agents. How long he stays remains to be seen, but it shows an intent to stay for now. We need to bring him on earlier in maches where we can and if Cole does go, it would be him and McAtee up top for me, as Cosgrove is useless and Watters not much better.
Just seen the interview on iFollow and the interviewer basically couldn’t ask a question and wait for the answer - simply said exactly what he THOUGHT Fab ought to be saying for him to agree and say it again. Very much like most interviewers do on Talksport - give their view and wait for agreement. To be fair to Fábio he seems levelheaded enough to give his own views.
Best news out the club in a long while. Not sure what it is about him, but if he stays focussed and works hard I can very easily imagine telling people “he started his career at Barnsley, actually” when he’s playing at a top club. Lots of steps between this and that and lots of talented players have wasted it but this seems like the first move of a lad with his head screwed on rather than going and getting lost in the ranks of hundreds in the academy at Man City.
Hope he starts starting games from today. I wonder what the amount in his release clause will be. The length of the contract is great, but I doubt we can just turn down any amount we want when bids come in.
