Fair play for his service, but in this day and age I would hope that the role will be retired with him.
Why does the club need a "Club Chaplain"? Nothing against him, but why is there a replacement? The less religion is tied to anything the better.
I don't see that the religion is tied to anything. It looks to me that Mr Amos was simply there for people to talk to, should they want to do so. He strikes me as a good and well-regarded person, and quite honestly, there are too few such people around at the moment. Another perspective cannot be a bad thing, so far as I can see.
