Re: FAO James G "We have to end the reliance that the previous manager had on expensive Premiership loan signings">
Re: FAO James G Key word is probably expensive. Unlikely two young kids from the Prem on loan for one/two months will cost us anything. Wheras season long for Trippier and signing O'Connor/Harewood definitely did. But I agree.
Re: FAO James G What Dyson said.. and, you used the word 'reliance', which has no relevance. We havent had to rely on any loanees. Drinklager is the only regular loan that we use. And I dont believe we rely on him - see setdi for evidence. Mark 'Reliant' Robins, had a squad full of overrated, overpaid loanees. Add McShane, Hill and Arismendi to Dyson's list. These TWO lads are short-term, cheap, and not guaranteed a start. They are ere, I believe, to add depth and competition during the hectic xmas period, and maybe to tempt a few stayaway fans back...?
Re: FAO James G Assulin, an Israeli international who has been on Barcelona's books, cheaper than Kieron Trippier, signed from Salford Borstal as a 14 year old? Righto.
Re: FAO James G Not complaining about these signings, far from it. Pleased that Hill has been able to bring them in. Just highlighting the inconsistency in an argument, thats all.
Re: FAO James G Better comparison - who's cheaper, Assulin, Israeli international released by Barca B or Jacob Mellis, England U20 international signed by Chelsea for a million quid?
Speaking of Trippier, I just asked him on twitter, what he thinks of Assulin.. Says he is a class player that will do well wherever he goes.. And regarding wages etc, does anybody seriously think Man City will be charging us? It will be accomodation and the like, nominal fee if owt. Same wi Ranger who Pardew just wanted shut of. Not exactly 20 grand a week McShane, O'Conman and Harewood... bet we were paying at least 25% of their wage
Pleased with this signing, open minded on Ranger for now. These loans are very different to last season. Young, up and coming players in positions we need, likely to be relatively cheap, to supplement a small squad. Last season it was expensive players who we didn't really need, playing every week. Most have been mentioned but we also had Frank Nouble for a brief spell. Never figured that one out.
