Gray is the WEAK point of the team............. Hill has said in the last two weeks that Gray is 'integral' to how the team plays. In my opinion thats because he is the pivitol point of the attack i.e. we are playing with only one striker We are solid in defence and midfield but our attack relies soley on Gray Gray might be a hard worker.........BUT......he isn't big/strong enough to cause central defenders problems..........and neither is he quick enough to cause central defenders problems. A sole striker has to have at least one of those skills..........but Gray has got neither We are in desperate need of 1 or 2 quality strikers. Hopefully Haynes and Davies will fill that position when they come back. On Saturday the match could well have ended in a draw because we never looked like scoring....thats until the Coventry player helped us out with what I would describe as a dodgy penalty
Re: Gray is the WEAK point of the team............. Dodgy pen... anywone sat in the east stand will tell you after he fell over he literally snatched the ball,. should have been sent oof and keeper should havebeen booked
If we hadn't got the penalty we would have struggled to score ..........we are hard to beat..........but we just cant kill teams off......Hence the recent results If we are going to play with only one player as a striker then that player has got to be prolific Can't take nowt away from Gray in his efforts........but he just isn't prolific in front of goal As for the penalty - I thought their player accidentally put his hand on the ball as he was trying to get to his feet. If that had happened to a Barnsley player i would have been more than annoyed
Re: If we hadn't got the penalty we would have struggled to score It looked to me as though he was trying to do the referee's job for him, by grabbing the ball in antipation of receiving a free kick. There was nothing accidental about it.
Re: If we hadn't got the penalty we would have struggled to score he snatched the ball and took it into his chest
