Don't think he should get it for November as we lost one

He'll get it for December though when we win them all.

Everyone's going mental. Samba football, goals that are absolute screamers, strikers scoring, midfielders scoring, best keeper in the league, play offs, 28 game winning streaks etc etc. Even mi fatha text me last night convincing me to go to West Ham away.

    F.cking great innit?

If we fall away from the race for the play-offs

then so be it. I'm not going to get monk on about it. But that's not going to stop me enjoying what's happening now. We're playing good football and scoring some great goals so I've decided to believe we can do it. You enjoy it more that way. If we don't it's not the end of the world, it's only football.

    No expectations here, just appreciation.

    If we do

And as the season wears on I think we will - just purely down to depth of squad if injuries and suspensions hit us hard - although Hilldaveflickkeithcroft do seem able to absorb the loss of players really well, then fair enough. At least this season we don't have a team that plays when it wants to and just does the bare minimum.

This current crop of players is the most honest and hard working bunch since we got promoted from league 1. There's also a bit of quality in there.

The amount of hard work they put in is what has impressed me most

Star of the show in that department is Jim O'Brien. The guy must be in a reight state in the dressing room after the game because he just runs himself into the ground. He was thought of as a hard worker last season, but he gave nothing compared to the effort he has put in this year. That's why he's improved so much, he wants it more. Can't praise him enough. He's a credit to his profession.

The likelihood is we're not going to be able to maintain this current form. Like you said, the squad just isn't big enough. And we're going to come up against teams with real quality players where our hard work won't be enough to overcome them. But **** it, it's brilliant at the moment, so I'm going to dream we can.

    Agreed

At long last we are difficult to play against. Hard work won us the points on Tuesday and saw out the game v Leeds, imho that earned us 4 points that we wouldn't have got last season.

Think it'd be churlish to criticise any current squad member - some of them may be lacking in certain areas but as far as attitude goes none of them can be faulted - and that will carry us a long way when things maybe aren't going for us.

I'd be delighted with a top ten finish and more than happy with a top half finish given the apparent restrictions on our budget compared to previous seasons. Anything better than that is a massive bonus and to use a much used phrase an 'over achievement'.

    Re: Agreed

As good as we are playing, we have also been riding our luck so lets not go too overboard. Last three matches we beat Leeds by one goal, Peterborough by one goal after blowing a three goal lead, and Palace by one goal after throwing away a lead again. It's not like we are comfortably winning matches 2-0. Hill says clean sheets are king and he's right. We need to be getting more of them.

Harder you work, the luckier you get.

Who exactly is going overboard ?

We can't be that lucky if we keep conceding goals....

That has to beat anything Hemmsy has ever posted for outright stupidity and not bearing any relation to what is actually happening.

    Re: Agreed

We are lucky in the sense that we have thrown away a lead twice in our last three matches but still managed to win them all with no clean sheets. We could very easily have drawn our last three matches and be six points worse off. We are doing well but we've a long way to go and need to keep our feet on the ground. We've not even played half the season yet and staying up is the first points target.

I'll ask again who is going overboard and whose feet aren't on the ground ?

And it isn't luck that wins games after being pegged back, it's hard work and strong mental attitude and some skill - eg Craig davies' finish v Peterborough.

    Re: Agreed

If you haven't seen posts on here about our league position or mentioning us possibly getting the play off you are blind to people not keeping their feet on the ground. Under both Davey and Bobins we had a good first half of the season, only to drop off in the new year. Hopefully with Hill it's third time lucky. Lets get the busy xmas period out of the way first and then see what we can achieve, so wait until after Donny away and see where we are. After saturday we've three games in a row in West Ham, Blackpool and Leeds against teams above us in the league. If we get six out of nine against those three i'll be delighted. Keith Hill seems perfect for making sure the players stay focused and doesn't let this short winning sequence go to their heads :)

But nobody in this thread was going overboard. And BFC haven't been lucky.

Lucky when we win, just plain sh!te when we lose. That's how it works isn't it? Seriously though for me we have been winning through sheer determination, surely that is something that is now engrained in the team and will be with us for the rest of the season.
