On loan Southampton winger Lloyd Isgrove faced the press this morning ahead of his first away trip with the Reds against S****horpe United.

Isgrove was keen to let the fans know that he will be doing his utmost during his time at the club to help performances improve and get the club back up the league.

The young and tricky winger said he was delighted with the opportunity to come to Barnsley and be involved in first-team matches.

“I’ve come to play games and make an impact,” said Isgrove. “If I can do well away from Southampton then hopefully they can see that. I want to play games which is why I’m here. At my age (22) playing matches is the most important thing to me.”

Isgrove was well aware about the club he was joining before he chose to come on loan to Oakwell, and fully believes there is talent all over the squad.

“There’s a lot of injuries at the club so when I found out I could come here I jumped at the opportunity. The club has been on a bad run but with the players that are here we shouldn’t be where we are for long.

“We can turn it around and we can do that with a win on Saturday then kick on from there. I think once we get a win the confidence will be flowing and we’ll be fine.”

Isgrove gave his feelings about his time at Barnsley so far and wanted to make sure he impressed the fans and his new team-mates.

“It’s been good here so far.” Explained Isgrove. “I came in to training yesterday when the lads all had a day off just to make sure I was fully fit for Saturday.

“The boys were a bit down after Saturday but we need to get that out our heads and look forward to putting it right against S****horpe. I know we’ve played them a couple of times this season and done well so hopefully we can do that again and get the three points.”
