Newsbot caught up with the Reds new signing Otis Khan on his first day at Oakwell. After his recent appearance on ITVs Saturday night show Ninja Warrior the Reds boss Lee Johnson was excited that CEO Ben Mansford was able to secure the youngsters signature. The former Sheffield United midfielder was keen to explain his decision. ''No, well yes, I'm really happy. I know Ben is a big fan of the show. My agent made me aware of the clubs interest and the rest is history.'' When asked what the Oakwell faithful should expect from the Pakistan international he was quick to reassure the Reds faithful, ''after my appearance on the show I was amazed to record the shows fastest time on the assault course. The gaffer wants me show these attributes in all areas. I'm due to meet the rest of the ground staff tomorrow and get down to business. It's important I hit the ground running and I've set myself a personal target of marking the pitch out in less than 13 minutes. I've come close a few times but with the excellent facilities at the ground I'm sure I'll push myself.'' Manchester born Khan hopes to continue his development and has already set more targets, ''No, well yes. My ultimate aim for the remainder of the season is to scale all four floodlights and ensure they pass all health and safety requirements. Ben saw me on the show and was impressed with my climbing ability. But that's a long way off yet. I picked up a bit of an injury on the rope ladders so I'm working with the physio just putting the nets up at the moment. It's getting easier. Today I managed to sweep the entire East Stand steps in just under 2 hours. That shows I'm getting stronger. I just want to get going as soon as possible. The lads have made me feel so welcome. I've got my own wheel barrow and they've even ordered me a new high viz vest.'' Newsbot 25/01/16
I actually got as far as "marking out the pitch" before I began to feel that something, somewhere, was about to go horribly wrong.
I called radio Sheffield after the match on Saturday and said 'at the end of the day' about 12 times. The time before when I rang, I did the same with 'I can't put my finger on it'. Sent from my I-Toaster using the internets
