"the footballing philosophy which Lee Johnson has implemented" Anyone care to explain what that is? It wasn't obvious from the games we played under him.
Did you actually watch the games he was in charge for last season, get it forward to a isolated striker, who was playing the role of a defender up front, trying to keep the ball away from our net as long as possible, using midfielders to close down as high up the pitch as possible when the opposition had the ball with the same objective, holding it up front hoping to keep them out of the areas that would be dangerous to us, instead of focusing on trying to cause them problems, and hoping we sneak a goal to win 1-0,
I'd not agree with that, or tyke. It was like that for a few games, some we played really well, others were a mess with no discernible patterns/formation etc. Not sure I've seen a 'philosophy'.
I did. Last half hour was very enjoyable. But if Johnson's football philosophy is to wait until the opposition are reduced to ten men and hope they simply give up, like Rochdale did, we could be in for a rude awakening next season.
Can you imagine a similar explanation for the departure of Jennings: Barnsley Football Club can confirm that Dale Jennings has left the club. Dale started last season very fat and showed inconsistent determination and work-rate; often none. Overall Dale made 51 appearances and scored six goals. He had been a near never-present in the first team squad, but more latterly the footballing philosophy which Lee Johnson has implemented resulted in Dale not playing any games at all. Discussions were then held between the player and Lee and after further negotiations, the prospect of receiving nothing at all was at a level which the Club believed was of good value and was prepared to accept. Therefore, it was decided that, in the best interests of all concerned, the Club would allow Dale to **** the **** off. As part of the departure, the Club retain no interest at all in Dale’s future. The Club would like to thank Dale for ******* nothing and if he darkens our door again we shall release the hounds.
I didn't miss a game all season, and in all of Johnsons games the objective was as I described it, That's his philosophy 100% even in the dead rubber games, when playing fringe players, the score lines may have differed but the game plan style and tactics stayed the same week in week out.
