Paul Heckingbottom's Gillingham Reaction - More from the official site... 13-02-2016 06:12 PM
That's a telling statement...........'we've missed the target on too many occasions' But this has been a major problem all season.........making loads of chances but only taking a relatively small number of them One of the ways a striker can be judged is by the percentage of shots on target And although Winnall gets a lot of praise..........for the number of chances he is being presented with he should be scoring more than he is. I'm not blaming him for the Gillingham defeat..........this is an observation I've made over the season so far
So you're using this line as a Telling statement to try and prove a point about what you say about Winnall. Hecky didn't mention any names,.Does only Winnall miss chances? A major problem before this run was the amount of goals conceded and a a system that rendered Winnall (or whoever else played the lone striker role) virtually ineffective and loads of chances weren't missed as they weren't being created.
No claws..........just reinforcing what Hecky has said through my own observations........and its this ..........to say Winnall receives lots of praise...........he dunt half miss a shed load of chances And Hecky knows, like I and a lot more know, that its great that Winnall scores the goals that he does........but if we are to move up this league then Winnall and anyone else that finds themselves in a goal scoring position need to sharpen up
17 goals in 39 games. during a season where we've been largely $hite, played him up front on his own and even in midfield
Have a gander at the chances missed/not taken by our midfield, apart from Conor they dont really help Sam out in the net bulging game do they? Hes done a brilliant job the last two seasons, hense him being coverted by clubs from higher divisions.
