There's a worrying amount of masking of the truth in that report from Hecky I am afraid. It definitely was a disappointing performance Paul. And we never really looked threatening. Southend were in control throughout. Sorry.

defending for 1st goal and the one where they hit the crossbar - plain lazy and players hoping someone else would do the defending. Roberts looked like he was out for a leisurely sunday morning jog and nobody picking players up or getting tight to them. Rubbish defending.

Very poor penalty from Hourihane and Hammill should take them from now on. He also lacks desire to close players down.

Poor performance and disappointing result. However - i dont want to be too harsh as they have been so good recently. BUT they need to know they have let standards slip a great deal in that performance! We need to be bang at it again now. Hopefully a kick up the ass for the to set them on another run.

I thought Southend played quite well - but they also had a lot of luck and the rub of the green. Everything fell to them.

Shame we didnt pick up another 3 points with Wigan dropping 2 points again. Still - we need to get back into the playoff spots again now.
