Funny how when we had a proper Ponty End it was safe standing every match. Seemed to work ok, even when it was packed in there
Except when we scored in a big game. At least once I started out on the left side and finished up on the right. And anyone that went down wasn't getting up again.
DING DONG ........ "We would like to remind all supporters to remain standing in the Safe Standing area. Sitting is not allowed - please respect your fellow supporters"
Hope I haven't got to move from my seat of many years to accommodate this. My son and my niece wouldn't be able to see over people's head in a standing area
Mint this, people have been banging on about this for years, and when it's finally announced, there isn't a single positive comment
Think it's a great idea (for those younger than me which is most folk these days). Hopefully it helps to improve the atmosphere.
Remember the Man City game after Aylott's header. I went from half way up the Ponty to down the front.
I went to last year's Super League Grand Final at Old Trafford last year, and was in one of the safe standing sections. It was absolutely awful. Just rails put in front and behind the existing rows of seats. Hope we do a better job of it.
