REDS TO WEAR BLACK AT LEYTON Club News We will be wearing our black third kit for the trip to Leyton Orient this weekend, while the hosts – who traditionally play in red at home – will be donning their white away strip. Continue reading on the official site...
It literally says right there "the hosts – who traditionally play in red at home – will be donning their white away strip".
It also says its to help people who are colour blind as red and black clash for these unfortunate people.
I'll just ask the same question again thanks. Why are they changing their kit to begin with, which means we don't get to wear the white kit. Maybe we are short of equipment because of the fire, I'd forgot about that.
Article now says it is because the away kit was destroyed in the fire. Given it’s easier to plait fog than get hold of kits, I’d imagine it might take a while for them to get it replaced.
I think they have changed because we can only wear our black (lost white in fire and they normally wear red). Black and red clash for people who have colour blindness so they are changing to white. They could have changed to white and we wear red but I doubt they’d agree to that when it’s their home colour. Edit: article has been updated with info whilst I was typing.
Poor that a fortnight later we can't get hold of replacement white kits. Not a surprise to anyone though.
Bus fire mate, the white kit went up in flames and due to the shirts fiasco, we aint got any more white kit apparently. A bit embarrassing really.
Yeah that explains it now, but it is indeed embarrassing what's happened with the kit set up this season.
Can’t believe they haven’t got a stock load of shirts of every colour, I didn’t think they even wore them more than once
its literally in the article. This is due to our away kit – along with a host of equipment – being destroyed in the bus fire on our way back from Exeter City on 7 October.
The term ‘tinpot’ gets overused. In this case, this is utterly tinpot. Professional football Club unable to source replacement kit from their official kit suppliers. I wonder if the Fanatics shambles has anything to do with Khaled’s predicted exit? Final straw?
It's the kind of thing you would have maybe read about 40/50 or more years ago, but for it to happen in 2023, christ almighty.
