Rejected interest from a number of clubs?
    Really Lee?
When was this? On loss number 2 or number 8? Of that amazing equaling club record run that you made us all witness?

    Pull the other one pal!.

Anyway thanks... I'm sure you have plenty of work to do in Bristol, crack on...

    Onwards and upwards.
    You mighty reds!.

    Fair enough

He didn't need to do one in all fairness.

    Good luck to him

Always liked him as a bloke even if I didn't agree with a lot of his decision making.

I have no issue with him taking the job at Bristol for the reasons he's given.

It's a better move for him both financially & family wise.

    Good luck to him

Don't see the point of him having a statement. I guess it gives him one last look at me moment. It's not like Danny Wilson joining Sheffield Wednesday. It's pretty generic apart from blowing his own horn. If clubs genuinely have been after him in the past well i'm gobsmacked. Shocked that Patrick would want him as his Wembley guest.

    Aye, good luck Lee.

Top bloke. Bloody brilliant at PR and progressing his own career - very interested to see how he gets on at Bristol - can completely understand him leaving and wish him all the best.

Cringe! He's walked out on us and abandoned this amazing 'plan' that he talks about.

I don't blame him for going but why are we wasting time giving him exposure and publicity on our website?

Move on LJ. Thanks for a bang average twelve months that has left us two points further up the table than when Danny departed.

Expected no less...classy bloke. Articulate and intellingent....is he a good coach, I'm not sure.
Good luck to him, wish him all the best.
Btw not having a go but when Danny left us for his dream, he initially stated he wasn't going. This hurt 3 x fold
    1. He said he wasn't joining them
    2. It was to our rivals
    3. He had produced the best football team I have ever seen at oakwell and was very successful.
This cannot be compared in anyway to Johnno's absence.

I agree the two can't be compared because........

    1) Wilson gave us our best two seasons ever and LJ gave us one of our worst runs ever.
    2) Wilson gave us players we could be proud of and LJ gave us mainly short term deals or loan signings.
    3) Wilson left us for the premiership and LJ has left for a relegation battle.
    4) Wilson went to a club he's a legend at and LJ a club he's not very highly thought of by the fans.

    Re: Fair enough

I was/am a fan of his, and supported him through the (very) bad times. I believe he will be a very good coach one day, not sure he'll make a great manager. He definitely developed some of our players, but I think he kind of fell into the right formation rather than found it. For Bristol's sake (and his) I hope he's learned some lessons.

But let's be honest the only reason he's given a statement is because Lee wants everyone to like Lee (not necessarily a bad thing). He knows that what he did was disloyal given how the club stuck by him, and this is his way of appeasing his conscience. Your right he didn't have to give a statement, so why has he?

I could have told you straight away (when it was announced he was making a statement) that the sentence 'if it had been any club but Bristol City' would be in there, when in fact history suggests (Oldham) that any job offer from a club higher up the food chain would have got him. Not sure I believe this b*llocks about turning offers from the prem down (youth squad perhaps). When was this supposed to have happened? during the eight straight losses or just in the last month?

Lee's an ambitious man (which is fine), he's just struggling to reconcile that with being disloyal. That's why we have a statement, no other reason.

I wish him all the best, he will be a good coach one day. I'll miss his interviews, but we'll manage fine without him.

Good reasoned statement .I hoped he would have stayed because I believed he and the club were building something special. No axe to grind with me.All the best Lee for the future.
