It is and its a nice pie, chips and peas. They serve it every match in the DX stand (think its usually 11.95). Good to see them continuing this lunch club. Seems well received

While I think this is a great idea in principal shouldn't it be changed to pay what you can? For some a fiver is still too much (I blame the Tory scum) while for others, and quite a few others too, its small change to them yet they're having an heavily subsidised executive box meal simply because they feel their age makes them entitled to get what they can out of people/companies. I personally know a few fans who go to these luncheons purely because it's cheap. They go out to Italian, Chinese restaurants regularly, drive nice cars and live in big expensive houses mortgage free but "its aimed at pensioners, I'm a pensioner so I'm getting my money's worth". Meanwhile there are plenty who can't afford to go or aren't really invited.

Pay what you can, do the right thing.

Also feel that the constant references that it's aimed at older fans is so wrong. It should be aimed at ALL fans who need it. Loneliness hits affects people of every age. Isolation affects people of every age. Poverty affects people of every age, in fact I'd argue it affects the young much more as they get pretty much zero discounts anywhere they go and are largely in the most expensive time of their life yet we have (in an attempt to do the right thing) targeted the group of people who get the most support already.

Make it available to everyone, make it pay what you can with a minimum donation if possible and let's really help out those who need it in Barnsley instead of the freeloaders taking the piss because they've got short arms and deep pockets

Sorry for the bit of a rant. It's not really intended as criticism of the club at all because they've done this for the right reasons. I just feel it's targeted at people based purely on age not need and that's the wrong way to go about it but sadly the way so many things are done.

It was value for money and friendly atmosphere. Enjoyed by all who attended.
