Thousands Are Renewing Ticket News Sales for next season's Reds Membership packages are still going strong... Continue reading on the official site...
I think I`m right in saying I paid £390 last year on the early bird offer which means I`ve saved £140 - is this in expectation that we won`t be allowed access to games at whenever the new season start is?
If it is, someone wants to tell 20 of the other 23 clubs who are all charging a lot more. Like Luton at £500, Forest at £600 and Sheff Wednesday at £48,999.
Great to see so many renewing. Whatever we think of the board we were here before them and will be here long after they have gone. It's the lads on the pitch we support. Hopefully things continue to improve over the next two months so as many as possible are allowed back from the start of next season.
As Dane said in his last interview, as soon as we know what next season looks like, we'll make fans aware. It would be daft of us to predict or guess what's going to happen, as we are talking about a virus, and, we have to follow government guidance. However, Dominic Cummings will be at every game.
In a recent thread, someone mentioned that they'd been told by someone in the box office that home and away iFollow access would continue into next season for ST holders, if crowds were not allowed back. Is that the official position? Or was it a "best guess"? Appreciate things may be murky at the moment.
It's not official, no. So I don't know who, why or even if someone has said that. However, considering fans aren't currently allowed inside the stadium, and have been offered alternatives/refunds plus free streaming of games (by us - majority of the division have offered refunds OR live streams), it would therefore be a clue as to what next season would potentially look like were no crowds be in attendance. However (again), we don't know what division we will be in. And by all accounts, it's a lot more murky a picture regards the 20/21 season in L1 and L2. I can't stress enough that we will endeavour to keep fans informed as best as we can. But as of right now, we know nothing about next season.
Thanks Andy, I thought it sounded a bit too soon to be an official position, and that's fair enough and perfectly understandable at this stage. Particularly as you say given the L1 and L2 uncertainties. I'm about 99% certain to renew next week in any case, just wanted to clear that one up. Cheers.
I can see why someone in the Box office said that - its on the website https://www.barnsleyfc.co.uk/tickets/reds-membership-2021/2021-info-membership/plus-benefits/ I know it has the "if EFL and broadcasting partners permit" qualifier The above is for the reserved + for standard ST it only says home games Its hard to imagine it not being allowed to stream behind closed doors games though
The qualifier is key though. That's why it isn't official, and just the best guidance for right now. But as Dane said, and as I'm saying, you only need to look at the current setup to get a glimpse of what we'd 'expect' in place should fans still be unable to attend. Considering the government have practically just this last hour, ended much of the lockdown, starting July 4, I would 'hope' that by mid to late September (likeliest start time for next season) we would have fans in stadia. If we don't then the situation for L1 and L2 clubs, and even some at this level, well, they're going to be bleak.
If cinemas are allowed to reopen.. obviously you are sat in a similar fashion to at a football match but indoors, i should imagine football matches wont be too far behind.. i would imagine it might be "half capacity" or something to begin with, but if away fans were prohibited im sure we could make that work with regards home fans only in all 4 areas of the ground. (All just supposition) Obviously the everybody leaving at the same time in large numbers might be the issue.. but this is again only similar to a cinema situation as far as i can see. I also did the maths.. i paid 390 for my ticket last year.. worked out about 16.95 per game 250 is 10.86 (ish) For it to work out a roughly the same price per game.. you would have to have access to 15 games. (16.66 per game) so would mean missing obviously 8 games. 8 games/roughly 16 weeks incliding international breaks. So assuming the season was t start saturday September 5th.. 16 weeks would take you to boxing day... Surely we will be allowed back by then.
Hmm... that does put a slightly different slant on things. For two of us, 2 × £249 = £498, which is not far off the iFollow £460 for 46 games. It's a bit different when compared with £230 for home games only.
