Curious that there is no "we thank Conor for his efforts at the club and wish him all the best in his future career".

Standard message to all outgoing players, but not for this one. Odd

I noticed that too. It seems fairly evident to me from what Johnson's said that he's done nothing to impress attitude wise at Oakwell and didn't look interested in playing for the club, and that article would seem to confirm it. Therefore the club have no reason to well-wish a former employee who hasn't pulled his weight and put the effort in

I wonder whether things would have been different had he signed permanently? With the financial trouble they're in, it would be poetic justice if he is offered an early release from that tasty Bolton contract he was so keen to stay on rather than committing to us.

We didn't ought to feel sorry for footballers being released from contracts, they'll make a mint, on top of the mint they're already sitting on.
They see more money for being crap than I do for being fantastic in my job.

I'm not preaching sympathy, but suggesting it would be a welcome bit of karma if his current deal was ripped up, even if he will still get a handsome pay off. It'll be his last pay day in football if he doesn't drastically alter his attitude.

The lad seems to know that exactly what you say is the case, and so has no incentive to graft to earn a crust with the security he's got.

I don't think there's any love lost between the club and Conor given Johnsons recent comments on him.

Conor got a barrage of stick on Twitter from Reds fans and rightly so, for his post containing the quote "focus on where you want to go, not where you are."

Shame as he's apparently one of the best in the U21 Ireland squad.

I would refer him to condemnation from Yoda no less:

"This one a long time have I watched. All his life has he looked away... to the future, to the horizon. Never his mind on where he was. What he was doing"
